Vincent Cirrincione (born May 31, 1947) is an American former talent manager and film producer who played a role in shaping the careers of actresses like Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson.[1] In 2018, his career came to an end following allegations of misconduct, which resulted in the closure of his management firm.[2]

Early Life

[edit]

Vincent Cirrincione was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the Marine Park neighborhood under the care of his Italian grandparents. They owned a grocery store and passed down to him a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed.[3]

Career

Cirrincione started his career in the entertainment industry as a talent manager and later established Vincent Cirrincione Associates.[4][5] He is recognized for discovering and managing the careers of several successful actresses, particularly Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson. Under his mentorship, Berry won an Academy Award, while Henson gained widespread recognition in film and television.[6]

Beyond talent management, Cirrincione also ventured into film production, contributing to projects such as Unthinkable (2010),[7] Supremacy (2014), and Lackawanna Blues (2005).[8][9]

In February 2018, The Washington Post reported that nine women, mostly women of color, accused Vincent of sexual harassment and misconduct spanning nearly two decades, from 1993 to 2011.[10][11] The allegations included inappropriate behavior and propositions for sex in exchange for career opportunities.[2]

Following these accusations, Cirrincione announced the closure of his management company, stating that he did not want to create distractions for his clients.[12] Actresses Halle Berry and Taraji P. Henson publicly denounced his actions, with Berry expressing anger that her name had been used to manipulate women, and Henson voicing disappointment and shame.[13]

Cirrincione denied the allegations, stating that any relationships were consensual and that he had never used his position to seek inappropriate favors.[14]
