Vassal Benford
Vassal Gradington Benford III is a 2025 Grammy Nominated[1] American music producer, record executive, and film producer he has written, produced, and performed on records that have sold more than 300 million albums.[2][3][4]
Benford executive produced After and After We Collided, two top streaming movies on Netflix grossing over 461 million USD at the box-office.[5][6][7]
Vassal Benford serves as the Chairman of the B. B. King Estate,[5][1][3] executive producing an upcoming biopic on the legendary blues artist. As a producer, he has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Michael Bublé, Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Toni Braxton, Jade, Diplo, Drake, Justin Bieber, Quavo, David Guetta, U2, NBA Youngboy, Gucci Mane, Nas, Rick Ross, Chanté Moore, Deborah Cox, BBD, Bobby Brown, New Edition, Steve Aoki, Swae Lee, Skrillex, Major Lazer and Marshmello.[7][1][4][8] Vassal Benford was named ASCAP's Pop Music Songwriter of the Year, for "Don't Walk Away" performed by Jade. In 2017, Billboard magazine ranked the song number 52 on their list of "100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time".
Benford has also scored and/or produced the soundtrack for a host of television and film titles including New Jack City, House Party 2, Whoopi Goldberg's The Associate, The 6th Man, Kid 'n Play's Class Act, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Swan Princess, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Running Man.[6]
