Wikipedia and copyright
[edit] Hello Charlieemmersonmarketing! Your additions to Draft:Amir Naseri have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:54, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
Conflict of interest / Paid editing

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.- To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
- If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page):
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
Important items to note:
- The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
- You are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually. Examples include: "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
- The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.
Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.

Request reason:
Hello, my previous name was not a representation of any organisation but for the avoidance of doubt I have changed my name now. I am solely acting on my own behalf with no interest of affiliation to any other external organisations Way2tekky (talk) 08:20, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

You had "marketing" in your username- so you are not editing about clients? 331dot (talk) 09:03, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi 331dot, no I am not editing for clients, I chose a username badly without understanding the Wiki rules. I do not take paid work for anything related to Wikipedia, hence altering my username now. I appreciate the integrity of Wikipedia. I am trying to publish a page for an unrepresented athlete, and nothing else.
- Do you work in marketing, even if not for the people you are editing about? 331dot (talk) 09:51, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, no I don't. I am currently unemployed as it happens as I am on a career break travelling. In my professional life I work in Sales/Customer Success Way2tekky (talk) 10:01, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer 331dot (talk) 12:34, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
