Flag of Northern Ireland

[edit]

Hi, what do you mean by "used 2025-present unofficially" for the version of the Ulster Banner with the Tudor Crown? I know Charles III uses the Tudor Crown in the cypher, but has there been considerable progress starting this year in use of that version? I don't understand how it would start this year instead of 2022 (after Elizabeth II's death). Would you be able to provide some sources that state this? Thanks, CutlassCiera 17:07, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your question and your warm welcome. The version of the Ulster Banner with the Tudor Crown received worldwide attention as the flag used by Rory McIlroy for his 2025 Masters win. The Orange Order shop began selling the Ulster Banner with the Tudor Crown in 2024 but it differs from the original. Walbec (talk) 16:49, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Has there been any notable news coverage about this? I saw this article before but it is an opinion piece on why NI needs a new flag, and therefore not really a usable source. I have noticed the renewed attention but I haven't seen any other reliable coverage. CutlassCiera 00:12, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
