Protecting a User Page

[edit]

How to protect a user page? Thank you. Happy editing! (VVWiki8 (talk) 15:13, 20 January 2025 (UTC))[reply]

@VVWiki8: You must request it at WP:RPP. Be sure to read the instructions and protection policy first. Hope this helps! — voidxor 01:39, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Rnoelgreene on Richard Greene (politician) (14:53, 20 March 2025)

[edit]

Hello,I am Richard Noel Greene and I was born on 23/12/1950 and I am 74 years old. I didn't write my wikipedia, but the person who did got my age wrong and didn't mention my date of birth. Richard Noel Greene --Rnoelgreene (talk) 14:53, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Rnoelgreene:. I remember a couple of us experienced [volunteer] editors were trying to help you in 2023, but a little perplexed by your lack of clarity and helpfulness—to be frank.
Once again, I'd like to help, but unfortunately you already have me confused. The article about you simply says "(born 1950)" in the introduction; it does not give an exact date of birth, nor does it assert your age. I don't see anything to be incorrect, based on the information you are providing here. So exactly what is the problem? Please be as specific as possible so that we can better help. Quoting the problematic sentence would be best.
Also, any changes—such as adding an exact date of birth—would require a suitable reference that we can direct readers to. If you know of one, please paste the URL or a citation here. Of course, I understand that you know your age, yet we really need a verifiable reference for all info we put in the article just the same. — voidxor 00:19, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Style wars

[edit]

Many bitter battles have been fought over various aspects of article styles. As a result, there is a low level of tolerance for even minor edit wars over date changes. Please do not repeat anything like what happened at Lagrange point. Whether you are correct or not is entirely irrelevant—article talk must be used when style changes are challenged. @Johnuniq: Very well. I've started a discussion there. — voidxor 14:16, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
