An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Moturoa Island (Bay of Islands), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Samuel Leigh.

DYK for Moturoa Island (Bay of Islands)

[edit]

On 30 December 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Moturoa Island (Bay of Islands), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in the 1980s, when Moturoa Island lost all its endangered kiwi to pests, experts reintroduced seven birds – today there could be as many as 300 kiwi on the island? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Moturoa Island (Bay of Islands). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Moturoa Island (Bay of Islands)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Noel Hilliam

[edit]

On 22 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Noel Hilliam, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that shipwreck hunter Noel Hilliam claimed to have found a sunken U-boat off the coast of New Zealand? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Noel Hilliam. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Noel Hilliam), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Hi Petersmeter. Thank you for your work on T. P. Hanna. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thanks for creating this page for a NZ banker who signature will have been the hands of millions of people. Much like the UK equivalents (Chief Cashier of the Bank of England#Chief Cashiers of the Bank of England) Hanna is likely notable. The current biography is brief, so there's plenty of scope for expansion.

Speedy deletion nomination of Crush protection devices

[edit]

Hello Petersmeter,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Crush protection devices for deletion, because it's a redirect to a non-existent or deleted page.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Joseph Alvan Simpkin

[edit]

Hello Petersmeter,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Joseph Alvan Simpkin for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Notice

The article Peter W. Barlow (author) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. Main notability appears him being the son of a notable engineer, and writing a memoir - neither are sufficient for Wikipedia; "relationships do not confer notability" (WP:INVALIDBIO), and fails WP:AUTHOR). Google searches almost solely relate to his father.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:37, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
