Caste in a biography article
[edit]Mentioning caste of a living person in Wikipedia requires self-identification by the subject per WP:CASTEID policy. That is, an interview, tweet, autobiogrpahy or similar is needed where there person has explicitly mentioned their caste. Otherwise it is not permissible per the policy, if mentioned by a third-person. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:37, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm his relative. No one knows him better than me. And for your kind information his caste is Bhumihar. Go and ask him if you want to confirm it. Edit it or I'll edit it again. Sudhanshu malviya 2000 (talk) 18:51, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia editors are not reliable sources, hence your admission is not valid. You've added 'Bhumihar' in many different biographies, not sure about who you be talking. And you might get blocked for going against Wikipedia policies. I'd suggest, you keep trying, to find interviews, tweets, autobiographies where they explicitly mention their castes. If you find something then only add. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:16, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Fine.
- I'll take an interview. And who are you to question it? Sudhanshu malviya 2000 (talk) 20:17, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Question what? Wikipedia is a collaborative project, maintain WP:CIVIL. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 21:09, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- So I'm also here to collaborate. You can't dictate your thing. Sudhanshu malviya 2000 (talk) 13:59, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
