[edit]Please note that according to MOS:CREDITS do not credit the image author or copyright holder in the article
. --Muhandes (talk) 12:26, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, but to be frank, very few clicks on the image to view the image details. And I try to keep my photo credit in a smaller letter (this doesnt always work with smart phones though). I dont agree that I cant credit myself as the photographer, it just doesnt make any sense for me and alot of other contributers. Stiansmoller (talk) 12:41, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- Make sense or not, it is a long standing policy. I found discussions about this from more than 15 years ago, and even then this was the recognized policy. You can always start discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Captions and try to convince the community to change the policy, though I doubt you will find much traction. Most editors are satisfied with contributing for the sake of having a better encyclopedia and are satisfied with giving credit in the image description. --Muhandes (talk) 13:44, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, but let me say that the policy, even though it is 15 years, is not right. There is absolutely no logical reason why photo byline is not allowed. None, I repeat none. The rule is only a disrespect to serious photographers. It is sad you have to remove my photo byline – total waste of time if you ask me. And we waste each others time when we discuss this. I will never respect this nonsense rule of not having a photo byline. Never. Stiansmoller (talk) 16:34, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
- Forgive me for going into this, but it seems like English is not the first language for either of us so I thought I might need to be clearer. The verb "respect" has multiple meanings. You are not required to "respect the rule", as in "admire deeply". All you are required to is "respect the rule", as in "agree to recognize and abide by". Hopefully you would still like to contribute photographs to the commons even though you are not given credit in the article body; I'm sure it will be much appreciated. --Muhandes (talk) 09:22, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, I will still contribute with photos, but I will continue to have a photo credit. This is a right I have as a photographer. Thank you. Stiansmoller (talk) 12:13, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- You can have a credit on the image page. You cannot have credit in the article. --Muhandes (talk) 18:28, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- I have understood the silly rule the first time you mentioned it. And as repeated before, I dont agree to it, that is why I will never respect it. Those who made this nonsense rule are clearly not photographers. Stiansmoller (talk) 19:58, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Logo of the venue Rockefeller.png
[edit]
A tag has been placed on File:Logo of the venue Rockefeller.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
