A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Speira Aluminium/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Kpgjhpjm 09:03, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or website, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 10:13, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand the reasons for my block and would like to request an unblock. I acknowledge that my previous username and actions may have violated Wikipedia's guidelines. I will disclose my paid contributions as required and ensure that all my future edits are neutral and well-sourced. I propose the new username "AluContributor2025". Speira Aluminium (talk) 12:41, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I'm accepting this- sort of. First I apologize for accidentally renaming this account; I have reversed that. I will change the block to permit you to create an individual account for yourself so you can edit topics unrelated to your conflict of interest as you say below. Even though you won't be editing about your company just yet, please declare your connection on your user page. My advice would be to give it much time and/or edits before you move to editing about conflict of interest related topics. 331dot (talk) 07:44, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your understanding and your guidance.

I appreciate your efforts in resolving the account renaming issue. I understand your advice regarding conflict of interest topics and will strictly follow it. I will focus on editing unrelated topics for now and will make sure to declare my connection to my company on my user page as required.

I would also like to ask for clarification regarding my username. Since “Speira Aluminium” is the name of the company I am affiliated with, I understand that a more neutral username is preferred according to Wikipedia’s username policy. I had previously requested to be renamed to “AluContributor2025” to avoid any confusion or policy issues. Could you please advise me on the best way to proceed with this username change? Should I submit a new request, or is there another recommended process?

Thank you again for your assistance and patience.

Best regards, Speira Aluminium (talk) 09:17, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any affiliation with Speira, and do you intend to write about them again if you are unblocked? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:40, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have an affiliation with Speira. I am contributing on their behalf, and I acknowledge that this creates a potential conflict of interest. I am fully committed to disclosing this on my user page in accordance with Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure requirements.
If unblocked, I intend to contribute to the article about Speira, ensuring that it is neutral, well-sourced, and complies with Wikipedia's guidelines. I understand that Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion, and I will ensure that all my edits are neutral, factual, and based on reliable, independent sources.
Beyond that, I am open to contributing to other topics where I have expertise, and I will always adhere to Wikipedia's rules and principles. Speira Aluminium (talk) 06:12, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Your proposed new username would be fine; seeing that this is a German company and you have edited the German Wikipedia, I will inform you that changing your username here would also change it on the German Wikipedia, where this type of username is not only permitted but encouraged. You will also need to be the only one with access to this account; again, this is different from the German Wikipedia where business accounts that can be shared amongst colleagues or associated with a position are allowed. If you don't want to change this username on the German Wikipedia, we can permit you to create an individual account for yourself once the other issues are addressed.
Another thing that is different from the German Wikipedia is our philosophy around articles about businesses. The English Wikipedia is much less interested in what a business wants to say about itself or what it considers to be its own history than the German Wikipedia is. Typically, our articles are written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic, though it is not absolutely forbidden for someone associated with the company to do so. We want an article about a business to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a company, showing how it meets our special definition of a notable company. Things like interviews, press releases, brief mentions, and announcements of routine business activities do not establish notability. We are interested in what those wholly unaffiliated with a business decide to say is important/significant/influential about the business, not what it says is important about itself.
My advice would be that you not immediately edit about your company here and instead spend time editing in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest and employee status first, so you can better learn what is being looked for. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your detailed response and guidance. I understand the differences between the English and German Wikipedia policies regarding usernames and editing practices. To avoid affecting my username on the German Wikipedia, I would like to create a separate individual account with the user name "AluContributor2025" for the English Wikipedia. Please let me know how I can proceed with this. I will ensure that this account is used only by me and not shared with others.
I also understand the English Wikipedia's stricter standards for articles about businesses, particularly the emphasis on independent, reliable sources and significant third-party coverage. I will ensure that any contributions I make in the future adhere to these principles and avoid relying on promotional or company-provided materials.
I appreciate your advice to start by editing topics unrelated to my conflict of interest and employee status. I will focus on contributing to other areas first to gain a better understanding of the expectations and guidelines of the English Wikipedia. Speira Aluminium (talk) 05:44, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
