Question from Abeyam (19:08, 5 May 2025)

[edit]

I have a conflict of interest regarding Cipriani S.A. I am contributing to the article in a transparent manner in accordance with Wikipedia’s COI and paid editing policies. My edits were flagged, despite being unbiased and properly sourced (my updates were to company history). Can you let me know what edits I need to make in order to get the flag removed? --Abeyam (talk) 19:08, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I have looked at the edits you made and there were some problems with WP:NPOV. We also don’t tend to add external links to the body of the article. I’m not sure what that IP was doing however as that tag is irrelevant to the edits that you made. They should have just reverted your edits. For COI edits, we tend to recommend leaving an edit request on the articles talk page with the Template:Edit COI template. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 06:00, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have taken the article to how it was before. I would recommend asking for the edits on the talk page. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 06:06, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm going to go the route of asking for edits on the talk page. Quick question - if I was able to share my edits with you, after cleaning up any remnants of bias, is it possible to have you submit these changes directly, as an editor? Abeyam (talk) 13:10, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you set up the edit request and sent me a message here to notify me, I would be willing to look at it and if it is good, then add it to the article. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 13:54, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ScrabbleTiles, appreciate your time! I've set up the edit request in the talk section of the article. Let me know if you have any additional feedback, as this is not intended to be biased, just a beefed-up history of the brand.

Hi @ScrabbleTiles, thanks for your attention. I just left a response in the article talk section. Abeyam (talk) 15:04, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @ScrabbleTiles, I hope you're doing well! I circled back to the Cipriani S.A article to make additional changes, understanding your recommendations above. I would really appreciate if you could take a look at the proposed changes. Abeyam (talk) 14:28, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

HI - i need to createan article on me --Shanetheaussie (talk) 14:04, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We don’t generally encourage writing autobiographies. Why do you think that you are notable for one? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 10:39, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from GeonGood (11:40, 19 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I'm interested in editing historical articles. I have come to notice that article prefer to use directly quote from primary sources rather than secondary source interpretation. To me, this does not seem like the best way to present history, as secondary sources take hundreds of primary sources into consideration. Is this a feature of Wikipedia because of the Neutral POV stance, as viewers are to draw their own interpretations from the primary sources? And when I edit articles should I follow this culture, or should I do what I think works better? --GeonGood (talk) 11:40, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think that you should do what you think is best, and then see what other editors say about it. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 10:40, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello ScrabbleTiles:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from ILoveDoggies11 (20:02, 22 May 2025)

[edit]

Hello. I am very happy to meet you and be a Wikipedia fan and contributor. I come here a lot for research and editing. I have seen how some people can get special privileges to editing. How exactly do you receive those editing privileges. --ILoveDoggies11 (talk) 20:02, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Most things about permissions are at WP:PERM so I’d look there but admins tend to want quite a few edits and an older account until they are willing to grant permissions so I would recommend waiting for now. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 15:03, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for being willing to mentor me. How do I remove a duplicate item under Notes? On this entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Halley_(couturier) The first two items are identical. --Denisebrain (talk) 03:00, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
