Reversion of Section

I saw you recently reverted a section I put together in Zionism. I am confused often about the nature of the restrictions of creating or editing content, as they appear to vary significantly on different pages. What is the background for prohibiting any new sections in that article before a discussion has been made? Hi אקעגן, there are broad bodies of policy including WP:Verifiability, WP:Neutral point of view, and WP:No original research, which are generally discussed and applied locally at each individual article's talk page. You can discuss a change you'd like to make to the Zionism article on its talk page and try to get WP:Consensus from other editors. إيان (talk) 18:33, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Is this then broadly the case with every contentious page that no new sections can be introduced before discussion? I used, at least in my view, only high-quality academic sources, and pointed to a pre-existing article, so my hope was that it wouldn't violate the policies you outline. אקעגן (talk) 18:36, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

NYC August: Wikimania Satellite Social + Roosevelt Island Wiknic

Two informal Wikimedia NYC events

While Wikimania 2025 is underway in Nairobi, Kenya, you are invited to Wikimedia NYC's Satellite Social at Prime Produce on Thursday, August 7th, which will be an informal gathering of local Wikimedians and potentially feature editing, hacking, and board games. No experience of anything at all is required. All are welcome!

Additionally, a second Wiknic of the season, this time on Roosevelt Island, is planned for later in the month (August 24th). Stay tuned for further updates!
