- Biddle's entry for the Watford tunnels gives the date of the second twin-track bore and how until it was built the goods trains ran through the original bore. All the other tunnels are two twin-tracks. I've uploaded to Wikimedia the photo https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:LeightonStation1865_small_02.jpg in preparation for adding it to the article on Leighton Buzzard station. It shows the tracks and platforms after the 1859 reconfiguration but before the addition of the third tunnel bore (the station name implies that it's before Dunstable North station was opened, hence 1865). From this photo it's clear that after 1865 they added a further pair of tracks to the west, as can be seen by looking at a large-scale map, e.g. https://maps.nls.uk/view/229947771, or the track diagram on p.88 of Simpson. As in the above thread, you have just created a paragraph in this article without citing a suitable reliable source. Could you please cite the source you used; this is essential for verification. - I'm fine with your edit. I was just documenting that the structural problems have been there for 100 years at least. I'm not sure that "Renewed structural problems" is correct: "Worsening structural problems" perhaps? RobertSimons (talk) 07:28, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
