Images make Wikipedia more informative, accessible, and professional.

In general, when working with images:
DO:
Green check mark Review the image style guide and use policy.
Green check mark Give context with captions and alt text.
Green check mark Try to find at least one image for each article.
Green check mark Find free images, or create and upload your own.
Green check mark Clean up images: crop, color-correct, etc.
Green check mark Use the best file format for each image.
Green check mark Use objects for scale where helpful.
Green check mark Place images in the section to which they are related
DON'T:
Red X mark Don't upload non-free images.
Red X mark Don't use images in place of tables or charts.
Red X mark Don't use images or galleries excessively.
Red X mark Don't add images that are not relevant.
Red X mark Don't flip faces, text, or works of art.
Red X mark Don't set fixed image sizes.
Red X mark Don't sandwich text between two images.
Red X mark Don't refer to images by their placement.
Red X mark Don't place images too early or at the end of sections.
