Hello, I wanted to follow up on my earlier post.

The "Criticism" section in the Isaac Shalom article cites one perspective, but it contradicts broader, documented historical accounts of Shalom’s role in preserving Sephardic traditions and strengthening the Brooklyn Syrian Jewish community. For example, Isaac Shalom helped establish Magen David Yeshivah, an institution specifically created to maintain Sephardic heritage when limited options existed.

Sources documenting this include:

New York Times obituary for Isaac Shalom (1968), which highlights his leadership in communal and educational affairs.

I believe the article should be revised to better reflect the full historical record. I welcome other editors' thoughts. Thank you!

Welcome!

Hi Drmies,
I noticed that the "Criticism" section includes material about Isaac Shalom that seems inaccurate. According to ImageUSA, Shalom was instrumental in preserving Sephardic traditions by founding Magen David Yeshivah when few options existed.
I respectfully propose removing the unsourced criticism and replacing it with properly sourced information. Here’s a citation for reference: https://imageusa.com/isaac-shalom-ah-and-other-community-members-who-helped-establish-mdy-2/
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you! QuietArchivist19 (talk) 15:41, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have posted a constructive and sourced concern on the Isaac Shalom article's Talk page regarding the existing content. I now understand the need to seek consensus on article changes, and I am committed to following Wikipedia's procedures going forward. I respectfully request an unblock so I can continue participating properly. Thank you. QuietArchivist19 (talk) 21:15, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

No. It's much, much too soon. Once you have a history of constructive and accepted edit requests on that article's talk page, then and only then should you be contesting your block. Yamla (talk) 21:28, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
