Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Marty Baylor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 21:55, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Marty Baylor Bibliography moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Marty Baylor Bibliography. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because in addition to the many structural problems, she is not close to meeting any of the requirements for academic notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ldm1954 (talk) 22:17, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please talk to your instructor

[edit]

I see you are part of Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/Skidmore College/Physics and Society (Spring 2025), instructed by Mostlydarkmatter, with expert guidance from Ian (Wiki Ed). They will have guidance for you on how to handle the situation you have created where your student project is now at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marty Baylor Bibliography.

The situation would not have arisen had you not insisted on moving your draft to mainsapce.

I wonder, too, whether Bibliography was the word you wanted in the title. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธโ€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆโ€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ 18:52, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the ping Timtrent. I will follow up, and keep a closer eye on things. I saw the article moved to draftspace and figured things would have cooled down. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:30, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful comments by fellow students

[edit]

Unfortunately they also are novices at this. You may wish to heed their comments within the confines of your course, but they bear little relation to what Wikipedia requires. Peer reviewed by course members are part of your course. Those peer reviews will also be marked. They serve little or no purpose outside your course environment. We are sympathetic to your predicament, because you felt you were doing something good, but you have been misled. This is some of what is required:

For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.

Additionally we require dull-but-worthy flat, neutral prose, with no WP:OR, no opinions expressed, no praise. It's hard to write Wikipedia articles, very hard. You recreated a decent student work, but it should never have escaped from the student environment. Please work with your instructor for guidance. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธโ€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆโ€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ 20:54, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Marty Baylor Bibliography moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Marty Baylor Bibliography. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because This is a student project with WikiEd which has escaped into the wild. WP:IAR draftification after WP:AFD in order to minimise the disruption to the course and the student. I hope this can be turned at the completion of the course into an acceptable article. I suggest WP:AFC reviews on top of any course based peer reviews.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธโ€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆโ€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ 21:25, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
