- Hello, thank you for your kind remarks. I look forward to learning more about the encyclopedia, and appreciate your help. Oliver Lawrence Georgeson (talk) 23:16, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
Might I ask what you are doing?
[edit]Hello...why are you removing and subsequently re-adding the same info...e.g. at Hawaii? Lectonar (talk) 09:17, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for your question. I am editing the information boxes of the U.S. states to include the official names of the U.S. states. Oliver Lawrence Georgeson (talk) 09:19, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, after having removed some to start with. Lectonar (talk) 09:19, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I removed the official names of the U.S. states from five of the information boxes. This was done to make the process of editing easier, but they will be restored. Oliver Lawrence Georgeson (talk) 09:23, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Just FYI - a few examples of the official name parameter in the infobox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Infobox_U.S._state/Archive_1#Propose_new_parameter:_Name/official_name
- I agree with @Lectonar that you shouldn't delete other parts of the infobox even if you plan to come back later to add something.
- Your edit on New Mexico got reverted by @Magnolia677. They should definitely post to say why it was reverted (WP:REVEXP, not policy but I agree with it). I would've also reverted it because you didn't cite any source.
- WP:DONTBITE is a thing that's hard for people already on Wikipedia. Thanks for contributing and I hope you continue to do so! Please feel free to reply here or post on my talk page if you need any help! SpookyTwenty (talk) 22:10, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- My bad, a better quote regarding edit reverts is: "Anti-vandalism tools such as Twinkle, Huggle and rollback should not be used to undo good-faith changes in content disputes without an appropriate edit summary." -WP:EW SpookyTwenty (talk) 22:15, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
