Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Ballynoe railway station. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you.  Sumanuil. (talk to me) 00:24, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What specifically is the wrong edit that I did Niallh26 (talk) 00:38, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Adding non-existent files and inline external links. Removing a template for no reason. Using YouTube as a source. Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:00, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thankyou, that is helpful. Can you possibly revert the change back to what I had and I will amend accordingly. Niallh26 (talk) 01:09, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have edited the Ballynoe Stone Circle page recently, so was trying to follow that structure Niallh26 (talk) 01:11, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will amend the YouTube references now in that page Niallh26 (talk) 01:12, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ballynoe stone circle, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ballynoe. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 08:01, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced

Information icon Hello, I'm Canterbury Tail. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 18:29, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You've been pointed to the guidelines on external links before, but you continue to spam multiple irrelevant links to articles. For instance station articles are about stations. They're not about the rail system as a whole, it's procurement policies or anything else. External links need to be about the subject which is the station. Please stop dropping massive amounts of ineligible external links into articles. Canterbury Tail talk 18:31, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for your kind observations and support. I am still learning as I have just begun this type of work last month in April. I do appreciate your guidance. Niallh26 (talk) 03:33, 14 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please be more specific Niallh26 (talk) 04:20, 14 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since you have chosen no to reply to my query, and given the handle that you have chosen, may I refer you to self-reflect on the lessons Chaucer offers in his character portrayal of the male protagonist in The Miller's Tale. You undoubtedly have also been told many, many times that your style of punitive language is neither warranted nor wanted. Please desist from further editing of any of my pages, they have been reviewed and edited by many other members of the Wikipedia community, I do not wish to be trolled by your comments. kind regards Niall Niallh26 (talk) 22:34, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
LoL typo *'not to reply', I haven't lost my sense of balance and reason Niallh26 (talk) 22:36, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stop disruptively adding external links into articles that do not belong there. External links MUST be about the article subject. A general link to Irish rail is not about a railway station. If you continue to spam external links (and make personal attacks on other editors accusing them of being English) you will be blocked. Canterbury Tail talk 22:20, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Canterbury Tail, I have not spammed any individual but I am disappointed that you did not take the time to read The Millers Tale from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Niallh26 (talk) 01:57, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just to note from a wiki policy that was linked from 'disruptively":
"Editors may be accidentally disruptive because they were not aware of policies and guidelines. If so, a FRIENDLY reminder is helpful."
Just in case of future events, the policy also states:
"Editors should take care to NOT wrongly label disruptive situations as vandalism as it drives away others, especially newcomers." Niallh26 (talk) 02:04, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not once has anyone accused you of vandalism, your edits are in good faith (other than the personal attacks.) However you are not paying attention to what anyone it telling you. For instance this edit, you have completely ignored why it was removed. It is completely 100% unsourced, and even if sourced the material is presented in an inappropriate way. There is zero reason for it to be an inaccessible chart when it can easily be a list. Canterbury Tail talk 11:40, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou Leonidlednev, I was trying to search for this page on google without success. I foolishly asked Microsoft Co-pilot to help but it didn't work so I removed it. Sorry, kind regards Niall Niallh26 (talk) 02:59, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Ballyvange

[edit]

Hello, Niallh26,

Thank you for creating Ballyvange.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Very big mistakes in article text. Example sentence fragment: "and Vianstown cottage were located in Ballyvange". Another: Very first sentence in article is "Vianstown Road in Downpatrick is in Northern Ireland." ??? What does that have to do with Ballyvange?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noleander}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Sorry about the atrocious grammar and thanks for picking this up Niallh26 (talk) 00:08, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Bright GFC moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Bright GFC. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Guliolopez (talk) 21:45, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Promotion/Tone

[edit]

Hello. While your additions to the project continue to be welcome, much of your writing is overtly promotional in tone. Please read WP:NOTPROMO, WP:NOTWEBHOST and WP:NPOV for clarification as to why promotional/editorial flourishes like the following are not appropriate for the project:

  • "The [golf] club is open to both members and visitors with views of the surrounding countryside and the Mourne Mountains".
  • "The [GAA] club has remained a central part of community life, supporting the development of players and promoting the values of sport across all age groups"
  • "The [GAA club's] project reflected the strong community spirit and ongoing dedication to enhancing the club’s facilities through regular fundraising efforts"
  • "[The GAA club gives] Thanks to a local sponsor for providing the match ball and refreshments."

Even if these sentences were supported by references (and they were not), they all read as promotional. And many read as WP:NOTWEBHOST content better suited to the sports clubs' own websites or social media channels. Please do not write as if you are speaking for (or acting as promotion for) any entities outside of Wikipedia.

Please also consider that if you are:

  • using ChatGPT or some other LLM to generate content that these tools will often add empty editorial and unqualified commentary that should not be simply "copy and pasted" (without references or review) directly into Wikipedia.
  • adding text to any article, then the burden is on you to provide references. Many of your recent additions have been made without any inline references. This is especially problematic when they contain unattributed opinions and unsupported commentary (as other editors CANNOT address the tonal issues or make copyedits to attribute any opinions - and so the only possible action is removal.)

Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 22:09, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
