What is meant by "recently deceased" on the BLP policy?

I'm just wondering what is meant by the wording "recently deceased" on the Wikipedia WP:BLP policy? Justjourney (talk | contribs) 01:05, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

It's just weasel wording. Less than two years, you can expect people to generally agree that BLP should still apply. Longer than two years, you'll see people dropping out of that agreement. Working against this is a general trend to read the BLP verifiability requirements as basically the verifiability requirements. Who wants to be in favor of accepting content that is not well sourced? — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:19, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
@jmcgnh The reason I asked this is because of this edit made by @Kurzon. This edit added "Brown was African-American" with no sources. Before this edit was made, Brown was already added to some African-American categories. Justjourney (talk | contribs) 02:03, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Unsourced additions can be removed by anyone at any time and it has nothing to do with BLP. This one doesn't look it's worth getting into a fight over, though. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 05:53, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
