[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
This is a follow-up after my appeal through the UTRS was summarily rejected. I get that there's probably hundreds of appeals to sift through every day and most of them are made in bad faith, but I'm still disappointed with the dismissive response I got to my first one. Before I took an interest in the VA project, I corrected typos, reverted vandalism, and occasionally wrote about niche pop culture. You know, being a good citizen, doing my part. I introduced AllyWithInfo (talk · contribs), someone I'm close enough with to share a router, to the VA project and they were even more enthusiastic than I was. Maybe I was too brief in my earlier appeal, but that's all there is to it: we share a router, that's why we have the same IP. Word of mouth is how projects like this grow, and that starts near before it goes far. But even with that reasonable suspicion behind it, I think a preemptive block was the wrong call in the first place because there hasn't even been any sockpuppetry in the first place: if I made another account to boost proposals, why haven't we voted on any of the same proposals? We agreed not to before all of this due to the clear conflict-of-interest. All I'm asking for here is benefit of the doubt. I certainly think I've earned a little for my years (ok, months) of service. What else can I possibly provide as proof?Johnnie Runner (talk) 21:51, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
Accept reason:
Although I was unable to reach the blocking admin, I did consult with another WP:CHECKUSER. PhilKnight and I agree unblocking is the right course here. Thanks for waiting, Johnnie Runner, and welcome back. Yamla (talk) 13:18, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Please hold, I'm reaching out to the blocking admin. --Yamla (talk) 21:59, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- How's that going? Johnnie Runner (talk) 20:31, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Yamla: - what are your thoughts here? If Guerillero isn't around, do you think we should unblock? PhilKnight (talk) 04:12, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- @PhilKnight: based on WP:CHECKUSER data, I think the explanation above is at least plausible and I think we should lift the block. Do you agree? I'll note this is unusual and I'll certainly grant there's technical evidence of overlap, this is just a case where I think WP:AGF applies. --Yamla (talk) 11:20, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Yamla: - I agree we should unblock. PhilKnight (talk) 13:11, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks very much for the second set of eyes! --Yamla (talk) 13:19, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for hearing me out, I'm a little surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. Is AllyWithInfo also unblocked, or should they make their own request? Johnnie Runner (talk) 18:42, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
