A cup of coffee for you!

[edit]
Jaynentu, I wanted to express that you did a really great job on your first article, Mosaics in Asia. I'm glad it was kept! I hope that you did not find the AfD process stressful; if so, please remember that AfDs simply community discussions (and sometimes debates) that help to insure the integrity of the encyclopedia. They are never meant to be personal, but understandably, they are not the easiest way to enter a new community! Some good points were made about possible improvements. I hope that you return to Wikipedia very soon; you have so much to offer. Don't hesitate to reach out on my talk page if you have any questions in the future, or need help navigating the WP waters or just need a word of encouragement. Thank you @Netherzone your kind words and encouragement. Indeed, I do have some confusion, so I'm taking things slow to understand better. Its complicated in my opinion. This article started as a school assignment but a topic of my interest. So, I'm truly glad its been kept to develop it further. I am also reminded that the discussions were done with good faith that definitely kept me going. For now, the article is suggested to be split. What do you suggest that I can do? Jaynentu (talk) 03:23, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! If I were you, I'd continue to take it slowly, and start to look for sources to see if you can find any, either in books, academic journal articles, magazines, newspapers, etc. that address the larger topic of mosaics across the Asian continent, or across wider swaths of area than just single specific countries. Take your time, it's not a race, and there are no deadlines on Wikipedia. Take good notes, or keep improving the article as reliable sources are found. You can also invite other editors to see if you could help out. You could join some WikiProjects and place a request on the project talk pages. For example, WikiProject Visual Arts or WikiProject Museums. You could also ask RebeccaGreen if she could share what she found while searching. So I'd hold off on doing a split right away. If it becomes obvious after a reasonable amount of time (no rush!) that you can't find sources, you could start to create "spin off" articles, for example, Mosaics in Central Asia and base that on some of what Rebecca mentions in the AfD - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mosaics in Asia. From doing that research you may find leads to broader coverage. Don't hesitate to ask for help. Good luck, it's a commendable first article, and a great start!
