Information icon Hello, I'm ScrabbleTiles. An edit that you recently made to Draft:Tanjaret Daghet (Syrian metal band) seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hello ScrabbleTiles,
Thank you for your feedback. I understand the importance of ensuring that all content is verifiable and meets Wikipedia’s guidelines. I will review my edit carefully, verify all the information with reliable sources, and rework it accordingly. My goal is to improve the quality and reliability of the article without relying on text that might be perceived as AI-generated. I appreciate your guidance on this matter and will take extra care in my future edits... Iomrla (talk) 12:52, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Was it ai generated? The only reason I said this was because it got 80% on zerogpt. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 12:55, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your feedback. I did receive a little help with some translation since I'm not a superman, and I've attempted to upload this article several times before. Due to my previous mistakes regarding the guidelines and terms, I had to revise it repeatedly until I reached the current version. I’m committed to meeting Wikipedia’s standards and appreciate your guidance throughout this process. Iomrla (talk) 13:12, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Tanjaret Daghet

[edit]

Hello Iomrla, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Tanjaret Daghet, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tanjaret Daghet.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Bobby Cohn}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Dear Bobby Cohn and esteemed colleagues,
I appreciate the initiative to open up this conversation and for sharing your insights. I would like to discuss the concerns raised regarding the article on Tanjaret Daghet and its potential suitability for inclusion in Wikipedia.
Key Considerations to Take Into Account:
1. Notability and Credible Sources:
The band has been extensively featured in well-regarded, independent outlets, such as:
- Al Jazeera’s 2017 documentary titled "Syria’s Heavy Metal Exiles," which underscores their contribution to Syria’s cultural resistance.
- In Metal Hammer's 2020 piece where they were ranked #8 in the "Top 10 Metal Albums Shaping Political Discourse."
- They have also been referenced in scholarly works like "Heavy Metal, Globalization, and Conflict" (Routledge, 2021) and the Middle East Critique (2022).
These sources attest to the band's global recognition and cultural influence.
2. Cultural and Historical Importance:
Tanjaret Daghet stands out as a trailblazer in Syria's underground metal scene, using their music to explore themes of displacement, resistance, and identity amidst turmoil. Their fusion of Middle Eastern musical heritage, such as pre-Islamic poetry, with the metal genre makes them a distinctive example of cultural resilience.
3. Recent Enhancements:
The article has undergone revisions to:
- Incorporate direct references for all assertions (e.g., collaborations, accolades, media mentions).
- Integrate academic citations and documentary coverage to enhance verifiability.
- Refine content to eliminate repetition while retaining essential information on their music catalog, live shows, and impact.
4. Global Impact:
Their narrative transcends Syria, as evidenced by features in NPR’s Alt.Latin, Sky News Arabia (2025), and partnerships with German cultural entities. This aligns with Wikipedia's mission to document cross-cultural influences.
Request:
While I am open to constructive critiques for further enhancement of the article, I believe the current iteration aligns with Wikipedia's criteria regarding notability, trustworthy sourcing, and encyclopedic significance. Its removal would eliminate a rare, well-documented entry shedding light on Syria’s underrepresented artistry amidst resistance movements.
Thank you for your attention and thoughtful consideration.
Warm regards,
Iomrla Iomrla (talk) 18:20, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to make an argument that hasn't been generated by an AI large-language model (i.e. ChatGPT or similar) then make an actual argument on the deletion discussion page. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 13:08, 2 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I do respect all what you've said, I'll work on it based on the existing base now, I'll make sure it's Compliant with the policies and conditions, and because this article is an article for me in a course at the university and passing this article obscures Iomrla (talk) 13:17, 2 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
