[edit]

It's good to see positive contributions from your end - I saw your recent article "Victoria Lake (New Zealand)" and liked it! I see on your userpage that you may be based in Canterbury; I'm also based in Canterbury (Christchurch more specifcially). There is a monthly meetup that happens in the city, and I will be attending starting in July. Here is the link to the page: Wikipedia:Meetup/Christchurch - also, feel free to check out Wikipedia:WikiCon Aotearoa/Christchurch 2025, this will be a larger event happening in May. Keep up the great work, and once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Alexeyevitch(talk) 11:23, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know, I will look into it! Hestia of the Unknown (talk) 11:40, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Manorburn Dam

[edit]

Hi Hestia of the Unknown! Thanks for your creation of a handful of Central Otago articles such as Manorburn Dam. Just a heads-up that navboxes like {{Central Otago District}} aren't substituted in articles - you simply add them intact with curly brackets. Otherwise, if the template is modified, any changes won't show on the article! Grutness...wha? 03:15, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, that's really helpful! Thank you, it will certainly save some time on my end. Many thanks for letting me know. Hestia of the Unknown (talk) 03:33, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No prob. Hi from Dunedin! Grutness...wha? 12:05, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Alum Lake moved to draft space

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Alum Lake, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to Draft:Alum Lake where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Misopatam (talk | contribs) 07:56, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Misopatam: What is your reason for doing this? Please don't draftify articles without providing a reason. How is Hestia of the Unknown supposed to know what to improve? ―Panamitsu (talk) 08:31, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Panamitsu Thanks for noticing this. I will take care next time and will provide the reason in future. Cheers!!! Misopatam (talk | contribs) 09:12, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. What's the reason though for draftifying this particular article? I'm not sure what it is. ―Panamitsu (talk) 09:32, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not sufficient sources, only 2 sources that are irrelevant to the page. No categories and not found any Notability. Misopatam (talk | contribs) 09:35, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair enough. Should I remove the red link for it on relevant lists so no one makes an article for something not notable enough for one? Also, thank you @Panamitsu for helping to clarify. Hestia of the Unknown (talk) 19:04, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There no such thing as small lakes necessarily not being notable. The sourcing just needs to demonstrate that; your articles are all on the thin end of sourcing, Hestia otU. For inspiration, maybe look at Lake Killarney (New Zealand), which is similarly tiny. In general, I suggest you focus more on quality than producing lots of short articles. Schwede66 22:42, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Schwede66 for the example. I value your feedback, and hope to contribute to better articles in future :) Hestia of the Unknown (talk) 03:52, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Endangered Species Foundation of New Zealand, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Endangered Species Foundation of New Zealand. Thanks! Dan arndt (talk) 06:55, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
