Mailer Project Author Bio
[edit]Rjones2025!! (talk) 04:32, 1 May 2025 (UTC)RJones2025!! Wikipedia Completion Individual Article - Self-Care I contributed to this article by adding two sections and updating several citations throughout the document.
Group Article Stabbing of Adele Morales I contributed to this article by adding some information/context to the article, adding some citations, moving some things into chronological order.
Hi Dr. Lucas. I've posted all of my assigned article in my Sandbox. I pay for Acrobat Pro, so I just saved the PDF as a Word file. I have the footnotes coded in and blockquotes. I believe I'm done with the body of the article along with the NOTES.
The question I have is about the title and author's bio. I can't edit the title. It tells me that page isn't set up. I assume it's because it's still in the Sandbox?
And the link for the author's name, Kim Morton, has a page with just a "T" typed in. Is her bio somewhere else?
I'm really enjoying this and am glad I took your previous course in Wiki.
Thanks, Randy LogansPop (talk) 18:51, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- @LogansPop: That's great! First, any communication about Project Mailer should be done on that site. Second, I looked for your sandbox on both sites and could not find it. Please send me a link on PM, or just add it to your article's page. Thanks. —Grlucas (talk) 20:27, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Final Submissions
[edit]Hello, Dr. Lucas! Per our instructions, I'm making my post a bit early for all revisions on the group project, but I wanted to go ahead and include my links!
For my Wikipedia Project, I assisted the group with the Stabbing of Adele Morales, which will be fully updated by the submission date. I focused on general edits overall, but focused especially on the Aftermath section. I pursued new sources, and was able to add Lennon's biography. I also pursued a primary source, and while the recording of the interview Mailer gave in 1960 is not yet available, it is in the works!
For my individual contribution, I wrote a new article on the Frances Virginia Tea Room. -4/26/25 @KaraCroissant KaraCroissant (talk) 21:59, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Dr. Lucas! Here's my submission for my Wikipedia Project.
Individual Article: Lula, Georgia
I looked to expand on the history of the town and it's beginnings, as originally, the article lacked sufficient references and information concerning the history. I added other sections and expanded on other areas, rearranged information, and added several sources. I also added two pictures of the local schools mentioned in the article, which was requested on the talk page to strengthen the Education section.
Group Work: The Prisoner of Sex
For our group work, I contributed to our bibliography and sandbox drafting stage by researching and writing up some information about the themes in The Prisoner of Sex. Ultimately, I helped flesh out the article by adding headers and subsections to help break up some information and make the article flow while also cutting away some unrelated content. I rewrote a couple of different sections, cut wordiness from the summary, corrected and added references, and completed other general editing. Maggiemrogers (talk) 20:22, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

You will find my contributions to both the group and individual project here. Wik1mar456 (talk) 04:00, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Dr. Lucas!
For my individual project, I chose a Georgia Woman in Red and created an article for Edith Lenora Foster, a pioneering Georgia librarian who led the development of the West Georgia Regional Library System. The article highlights her early life, career achievements, community impact, awards, and legacy.
For the assigned group article, Stabbing of Adele Morales, I integrated Morales’s perspective on what led up to the stabbing and the long-term impact it had on her life. I also expanded the article to include Mailer’s own accounts of his mental state at the time of the incident. Erhernandez93 (talk) 23:16, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Dr. Lucas,
For our group article, I worked on the Stabbing of Adele Morales. I initially shared many sources I found on the group sandbox for all to use. I also contributed to general edits, such as grammar, punctuation, bias removal, and copyediting. I worked with another classmate on finalizing the Stabbing/Incident section, and I worked with another classmate on moving the sandbox version over to the live version.
For my individual project, I created a new article called University of Oxford tortoises. I included a history of tortoises at the university and a section of known college tortoises. I hope to work on it further when I am able to get my hands on some other sources that I wasn't able to for this class.

Terrell Harrell Wikipedia Projects
[edit]For our group article, my main contribution was creating a background section for the Stabbing of Adele Morales article to provide context for our viewers. Finding sources was tricky, but I found several sources that specifically described their life prior to and leading to the incident.
I fixed grammatical errors along the way and ensured that my section provided accurate information. However, I ran into an issue where my edits could not be saved because another user was editing the article simultaneously, a practice known as editing conflicts.
For my individual Wikipedia project, I created a Wikipedia article for a digital media network called KeyTV Networkinstead of contributing to existing ones. Finding information for my article was generally easy; however, there were times when I ran into issues. I experienced issues with consistency regarding the date that KeyTV Network was founded and copyright issues for the company image. I worked with another person to see if we could add the image under the fair use policy. However, our attempt was unsuccessful. TerrellHarrell (talk) 04:10, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Dr. Lucas, I wanted to share the links for my two Wikipedia projects.
- Group Project: The Prisoner of Sex
For the group project, I provided a lot of information/quotes from three different sources, and broke those down into rewritten paragraphs that would work well in the Wikipedia article. These paragraphs were written to ensure that the most important information was being shared and it followed Wikipedia rules. I was able to bring these sources of information over into the main Wikipedia page for The Prisoner of Sex from the sandbox page. I was constantly communicating with my group members and ensuring that all the work was being completed, while also making sure there was nothing more that I needed to help with. I also helped fix a few errors and helped provide internal links to Wikipedia pages that exists.
- Individual Project: Edith Elizabeth House
I created this entire Wikipedia article from scratch and I feel very accomplished from what I was able to do for this project.

[edit]Dr. Lucas, my Wikipedia project articles are ready for review.
Individual project: Life Among the Savages
I updated the article to accurately and comprehensively reflect the book. I added "Background," "Genre," "Style," and "Reception" sections to expand the content of the article. I incorporated more sources and citations into the article, including three biographies and several scholarly papers. I also added shortened footnotes for better readability and understanding.
Group project: Stabbing of Adele Morales
I primarily focused on writing in the "Aftermath" section using two 1960 newspaper sources and Lennon's Norman Mailer: A Double Life. I watched two documentaries to confirm existing citations (Norman Mailer: The American) and search for additional information (How to Come Alive with Norman Mailer). I also engaged in dialogue with peers on the talk page and forum to offer my perspective on ideas or proposed changes.

Essence Mosley Wikipedia Project and Group Project
[edit]Individual project on Eatonton, Georgia .
Originally before editing the Eatonton Wikipedia page it only consisted of four small sections. History, Geography, Demographics, and Education. The History section only consisted of information about a tornado in 1992, Rock Eagle a popular camping sight, and little information about five black churches burning in May 1919. Now the Wikipedia page has a section for the Early Years of Eatonton, How they are the dairy capital, information about Rock Eagle, Information about there local indepndent bank, and a local community farm called Briarpatch Farms. In addition I also added information about Education in Eatonton. Originally the Wikipedia article had a small section about Eatonton Current schools. However I researched information about there education in the late 1890s and 1900s up until current years.
Group Project on Stabbing of Adele Morales
I primarly focused on the background section. Discussing who Morales was prior to her marriage with Norman Mailer. The background section consist of where she is from and what she did as a career etc. The background section also discusses Mailer and Morales as a couple in the early years of their marriage. Wikipedia Project
[edit]Group Wikipedia on Stabbing of Adele Morales
My additions included who the party was for specifically a 30th birthday party to informally announce Norman Mailer's candidacy for mayor, removing the idea that the stabbing occurred after he had already announced the decision. I also included who had convinced Adele Morales to lie initially to police. I also expanded the quote of how Mailer was treated with 5% less warmth, to show how even he interpreted other's reaction to the stabbing as just a little off not a big deal. Three important details in my opinion that were not originally in the article. I also worked on ensure that our article was neutral and removed information that belonged on Morales or Mailers individual Wikipedia pages. I ended up doing an edit on the lead for Morales individual Wikipedia page as a result. I also worked on combining citations.
Individual Wikipedia on Paradise, NV
I expanded the history to include the MGM Grand Fire, the Las Vegas Shooting, and the Cybertruck explosion. I worked on changing the cultural section to a places of interest section as it just included interesting spots available in Paradise, so added more and changed the title of the section. For the demographics section I updated all the numbers to the 2020 census numbers to create consistency and ensure it was updated to the most recent information. I expanded the transportation section to include the buses and monorail instead of just the airport. I included a picture of the monorail at the MGM Station. I also expanded the Sports section to include the NCAA march madness tournaments that take place in Paradise as well as the National Finals Rodeo that takes place every December. My article is more complete and less of just presenting the good without the bad. TBara4554 (talk) 22:53, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Dr. Lucas. Both my individual and group article contributions are ready for your review.
Individual Article: Hawkinsville, Georgia
In this article, I have added a significant number of citations to support the information throughout and increase the article's verifiability. I have corrected missing and outdated information in several sections, including updates to census data within the body of the article, the FIPS and GNIS feature ID, the name of the current city council chairperson, and information within the "Geography" section to align with Wikipedia's guidance on writing about cities. Additionally, I have added a section detailing the town's historic sites and their significance. I have also added mentions of two historic trails within the city to the history section, along with a brief overview of the town's two nicknames. I added Central Georgia Technical College's Workforce Development Center to the "Education" section; I also updated and sourced the "Notable People" section, adding two new figures. Finally (I think), I have updated the lead section to reflect my changes and added internal links to increase connectivity across the encyclopedia.
Group Article: The Prisoner of Sex
For our group article, I conducted research on Mailer's canon and his transition into New Journalism. With this research, I created the "Background" section to contextualize The Prisoner of Sex within Mailer's body of work. I also contributed minor copy edits to sections in the article, added an internal link, and corrected several reference entries and corresponding inline citations to ensure consistency throughout the article. Wikipedia Project
[edit]Hi Dr. Lucas,
Here is my submission for the Wiki Project.
Articles I contributed to:
Edna Swift (new article I created)
I created the article from scratch as part of the Georgia Women in Red series. I wrote and organized the content into sections such as Early life, Education, Teaching Career, Personal Life, and Honors.
Stabbing of Adele Morales (group project)
For the group article, I helped revise the lead to center Adele Morales and helped revise sentences for clarity. I contributed by reviewing and combining duplicate citations, reorganizing paragraphs for better flow, and supporting structural and sourcing decisions throughout the article. I also helped maintain naming consistency throughout the article and moved finalized content from the sandbox to the live page.
Adele Morales (additional contributions to existing article)
I updated the stabbing date for accuracy, expanded the lead to include her acting background, addressed citation issues, and renamed the "Aftermath" section to “Later life and legacy.”
Lastly, I’d love to see any edits or changes you’d suggest for our group article after your review, just to get a better sense of how it could be strengthened from your perspective.
Have a great summer!

Wikipedia
[edit]I contributed to the Killing of Sonya Massey and Language exchange. For the “Language exchange” article I
- added to and edited the lead, in education, benefits, and technology sections
- created the challenges section
- reworked direct quotes
- removed the references with dead links that I came across
- included references from different kinds of sources than the existing blogs
- integrated my contributions within those of some existing users
While much of the article related to the killing of Sonya Massey was already virtually complete, as I read it, I noticed that there had been few updates to the points underneath the “Aftermath” subheading. I brought the information there up to date until the present day and added at least a second sentence to single-sentence paragraphs. I did some other revisions here and there about the article. Wikipedia project submissions - Patrick Riley
[edit]Hello professor,
Here are the links to the Wikipedia projects I had worked on.
INDIVIDUAL ARTICLE: Screenwriting
The section in this article called structural theories seemed lacking so I added several other theories that may not have been too well known about. Among them were the four-act structure provided by husband-wife film theorists David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson, and I provided a multi-columned table showing this theory in practice. I also wrote of the theories from writers Michael Welles Schock and Robert McKee, and provided a little extra information in the formatting section about the software that were available for screenwriting (there were many that were already listed, but some that were not).
GROUP PROJECT: Stabbing of Adele Morales
I did provide some information about the aftermath of the event (which was placed in the "Public and critical Reaction" section of the article), notably about the Norman's continued fame following the event with his book of poems that did, in a few instances, reference the event. When it came time to edit, I did work on the Aftermath section, catching typos, restructuring sentences to help with the flow, and removing sentences that didn't add to the aftermath of the event.
I do hope that my contributions are seen as beneficial, and I look forward to your feedback.
All the best,
Patrick Riley Prileymovieguy84 (talk) 03:46, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
