[edit]While many books are good sources, some may not be for various reasons. A book is not guaranteed to be reliable, especially if it is self-published or contains inaccuracies. Generally, books from well-established publishers and academic presses are more likely to be reliable, but any source might have idiosyncrasies which outweigh these general factors. It looks like you and the other editor are engaging in reasonable discussion on the article's talk page. With any luck, you'll be able to come to consensus or find a compromise.
