Southern England
[edit]Sorry but I had to undo your changes. The wp:reliable sources say that East Anglia is part of Southern England. Your opinion (or mine, equally) does not matter: Wikipedia only reports what the sources say. FWIW, the administrative regions included in "Southern England" are East Anglia of England, Greater London, South-east England and West of England. --๐๐๐ฝ (talk) 14:30, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thatโs okay. If youโre interested, the reason I made those changes was because I felt the sources were referring to The East Of England region only and not East Anglia. EthanJamesBell (talk) 16:49, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- ok, it could be that what was there before wasn't correct either. Later this evening, I'll review each of your changes in more detail to see what should be reinstated. ๐๐๐ฝ (talk) 17:15, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- Can you keep to reviewing my changes on the Southern England page for now? EthanJamesBell (talk) 17:18, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

OK, here goes:
- This one is invalid as it confuses formal definition (which certainly includes the EoE) with subjective opinions (maybe it is, maybe it isn't). The opinion poll is not significant enough to be included in the lead - see WP:LEAD.
- this one just adds an 'and'. Stet
- Removing the ref to Jaywick: I disagree, it is very relevant. How is it that the richest region of England has its most deprived town. You were correct to identify it as inadequately explained but the solution was too extreme. Have another look?
- This one was just wrong. SE has a statistical definition, full stop, that's what we report. That one opinion poll had a third of respndents taking a different view is mildly curious, it is not encyclopedic.
- Wrong again. Great Yarmouth is the EoE, which is in SE and therefore GY is in SE.
- Wrong because the citation says otherwise. RP is educated Oxbridge and London.
I can see that you made all these changes in good faith. A fundamental principle of what makes Wikipedia work so well is WP:Bold, revert, discuss: make a change in good faith then either it gets accepted or reverted. Having your changes reverted is no disgrace, it is key part of the process. Either you learn and improve, or it exposes a weakness in the existing text that misled you and correction is needed anyway. I hope that all makes sense. --๐๐๐ฝ (talk) 19:29, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for correcting a lot of what I said. I actually really appreciate it. Iโve recently started researching East Anglia but it must also be noted that Iโve been also looking up different ideas about East Anglia and where it falls into so this might have led to some confusion. I hope this helps. EthanJamesBell (talk) 21:51, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
