User talk:Ed Durr
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Ed Durr, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Edward Durr, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Edward Durr, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. . ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:46, 6 July 2025 (UTC)- Take the page down today or face legal actions! You have a page that has my name and states lies about me! I will file suit! Ed Durr (talk) 20:43, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
- Would you mind having a close look at the current state of the page – [1] as of writing – and pointing out where exactly factually incorrect information is there? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:38, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
- Starting with the money spent, I spent nearly 10k, not $2300 and Sweeney spent over 2.5 million, he was running TV commercials from September 1st, nuts if you think he did that on 300k.
- I never made any comments about minorities or women. The stuff you wrote about Sawyer is wrong, she was jealous of my position from day one because they had originally asked her to run against Sweeney but said no. Her reason for running against me was personal. She also conspired with the democrats after the primary to ensure my defeat.
- The extra stuff you wrote about governor race, I did not drop out because I did not have enough signatures, I did have enough in fact I had over 2700. I dropped out because I had not raised the money needed to be on the debate stage or get my message out.
- The part you placed in with comments by Stan and Sean and Noah are all lies. Stan was not my political director. Sean had nothing to do with my campaign, in fact Sean was the failed campaign manger from my senate re-election run and did a lousy job. Noah had nothing to do with my campaign and was working for Jack so he was not involved. So when they posted that facebook post it was all lies and you should be better than add it to my page.
- In the June 2023 Republican primary, Assemblywoman Beth Sawyer ran against Durr for the 3rd district seat in the Senate. Sawyer’s decision to run was rooted in growing jealousy over Durr’s sudden fame and accomplishment. She claimed his widely criticized comments targeting Muslims had ignited intense backlash within the New Jersey Republican Party and across the state’s political landscape.
- Sawyer argued that Durr was unelectable in a general election and that his continued presence on the ballot would jeopardize Republican competitiveness in a key swing district. Despite Sawyer’s warnings, Durr won the Republican primary by a 65–35% margin, securing the 38 municipalities in the district. The deep-red character of this part of South Jersey likely played a significant role in the outcome, as Durr’s incendiary rhetoric resonated with a segment of the Republican base. His re-election campaign was endorsed by Arkansas U.S. Senator Tom Cotton.
- Heading into the general election, Durr’s seat was considered one of the most competitive races in the state. He faced former Assemblyman John Burzichelli, a seasoned Democrat, in a bitter and high-profile campaign marked by mutual attacks. South Jersey Democrats mounted a coordinated effort, it is said they spent over 5 million dollars to reclaim the seat, and Durr ultimately lost in a landslide defeat to Burzichelli
- On June 24, 2024, Durr announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey. Durr withdrew from the race on March 25, 2025 after failing to gain the required amount of funding he needed to qualify for matching funds from the State and continue participating in debates.
- After Durr withdrew from the race, Durr showed support Bill Spadea. Stating that Bill and he share more in common of beliefs but that he would ultimately support who ever won the primary.
- These are the corrections that need to be made. I do not care what a newspaper or facebook or twitter feed says, I am the guy who was running and these are the facts. Everything else you have on there are lies and propaganda.
- Thank you

- Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Ed Durr, Wikipedia is a tertiary source that makes no guarantee of validity and relies on other sources, mostly secondary ones. See
WP:No original research § Primary, secondary and tertiary sources
for a detailed explanation. - I have copied your message to:
Talk:Edward Durr § Edit request / corrections from user Ed Durr - You may want to have a look at the FAQ for article subjects.
- If you retract your legal threat(s), you may be unblocked to participate on the article's talk page in a discussion with the other users. You can not do so while the threat(s) is/are outstanding.
- I will add a {{edit COI}} template above the message copied to the article's talk page to attract the attention of volunteer reviewers, but I'm afraid the request might be declined as it doesn't clearly distinguish between the exact text to be removed and your explanations about why it should be. The request might also be declined if the sources behind a statement are known-reliable enough to rely on from Wikipedia's perspective, and the only way to fix that may be contacting the sources rather than volunteer Wikipedians quoting them.

~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:05, 8 July 2025 (UTC)- I have no interest in participating in talk forum with the page. I only wish to correct the lies & propaganda that has been published by your page. I do not care about what source you site, I am the ultimate source given it is my life and my history. As to legal action, as of right now I have not spoken to my lawyer but I will retain that option if we can not resolve this issue. My main objections are the Facebook post by Stan Chershaw an the added part where Sawyer accused me of having negative statements about minorities & women. These two things are definitely negative and harmful to my reputation. You want to site something in writing, well I wrote the story in my book and it's published. www.edthetrucker.com "The Drive" All I want is my name cleared of these lies.
- Thank you

- Ed Durr, I'll only address the part recommending the use of your book or your website. Wikipedia prefers secondary to primary sources, and sources unconnected to the article subject to those connected to it. The relevant policy links are:
- As long as legal actions are on the table, I won't answer or copy any further messages.
- Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:55, 9 July 2025 (UTC)- You have the ability to settle this without any legal action, just remove the lies I have informed you of. You have a person claiming I attacked women & minorities without any proof which you will never find since I have never said anything against women or minorities. You added a Facebook post by an individual that was never employed by campaign. Having no contract or documents stating he was my so called "Political Director". Wikipedia is not a newspaper so they are not there to share stories, only facts! What is written in my page is a lot of accusations & hear say which is not facts. So again all the power is with you, remove the lies and everything is fine but if they are not I will have to find what ever means needed to change that decision. The refusal to talk with me over the topic because I will not take away my only option is again your choice but when there is no conversation there leaves only one option.
- Thank you
