Monica Collings

Monica Collings is a former energy retail Chief Executive, having led Vattenfall’s UK domestic supply business from 2018 to 2020. She was also at the helm of consumer energy retailer So Energy, owned by ESB, after the merger with ESB Energy, from 2021 to 2023. Monica is now a portfolio Chair and Non Executive Director, sitting on the boards of a number of energy related net zero businesses.


Early life and education


Collings was born and raised in Buckinghamshire. She completed undergraduate studies at De Montfort University.


Career


Collings worked in a variety of marketing roles in her early career, mostly spending time in advertising agencies including Golley Slater Group and client side within roles at Mercedes-Benz, LSL Property Services, and McCarthy & Stone. In 2016 she joined Kingfisher Group as part of the leadership team of B&Q’s consumer marketing division, winning the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Marketing Team of the Year and Chair’s Overall Award in 2018. Since joining the energy sector in 2018, Monica has advocated for gender equality through being an ambassador with POWERful Women, and in 2025 she was appointed the organisation’s Chair. She served as a UN Women UK Delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68). Monica stepped down from her executive career at the end of 2023, and now sits on a number of boards including Adler & Allen, backed by Goldman Sachs.
