Hello B3251, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of File:That Vegan Teacher, unknown year.webp, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not elegible for ,immeduate deletion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:43, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Untitled Mac DeMarco album has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Speculative title which fails WP:CRYSTAL. Sources consist of speculative news reports, and there isn't any concrete evidence that an album will be released this year.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. NB

[edit]

FYI I've created articles for most of the islands at User:Fundy_Isles_Historian_-_J/Template now; I've chiefly relied on Google Scholar, Archive.org and Canadiana.ca for archives, always open to more hints on where to find more information on these. And let me know if you have any articles dealing with coastal islands or the Bay of Fundy NB-wise and I'll try to dig up more on them. @Fundy Isles Historian - J I've taken notice! Wow, you've done a lot lol. I see that you have over 500 edits now, so you should have access to WP:TWL. I use Ancestry's Newspapers.com a lot which I believe you'll find success in using for researching sources, but you'll have to create an account on Newspapers then apply to have access provided for you here: Wikipedia:Newspapers.com at "access or apply for this resource". B3251(talk) 19:27, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately it still doesn't let me register for TWL, saying I must wait until six months of editing. Can I do the Newspapers link without it? Fundy Isles Historian - J (talk) 22:33, 17 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see, apologies I hadn’t known that. I suggested Newspapers because it has an archive collection of the Brunswick News papers in SJ, Fredericton and Moncton. Normally users have to pay for a subscription to access the archived content but when an editor can apply they gain access for free for a year, then I’m guessing you just apply again afterwards. Well if you're able to do me a favour, one of the islands on which I've hit a total blank is Hospital Island (West Isles) (pay attention to the hatnote at the top; NOT the famous Hospital Island 20km to the west in St Andrews Parish). It's still Crown Land, and the name suggests it must've had some interesting history at some point to have never been given away in the original Loyalist grants...but I find zero, zilch, nada...can't even find people discussing the various flora and fauna as usually dominates filetype:pdf/scholar/site:.edu/gc.ca searches. Fundy Isles Historian - J (talk) 02:46, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I can try to help making some newspaper searches. I might be a few days, have a few finals. After that I'll try to find some time to get around to doing that for you! B3251(talk) 14:01, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think User:HazelAB is also an NBer, but FYI the Nathan Frink article is trying really hard to downplay the sheer level of soap opera and histrionics between five grown-ass men bickering about who gets to be king of the islands lol. I'm trying to focus on the islands themselves, Frink is the only bio article I've written because he had none and child-slaves is like the least fascinating part of it all lol - but let me know if you make a Pagan or David Owen article or such and I'll likely drop by with some tidbits as I find them. Fundy Isles Historian - J (talk) 18:20, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Finished with finals so I can finally get around to looking into some things I intended to do here when I’m not working. Pretty neat work on that biography you linked me, I don’t know much about the history of Islands in that area as my main focus is Saint John, but LMK if you’d like me to make a few searches on Newspapers related to any article in particular. Off the top of my head, temperance movement on Deer Island, New Brunswick, any details on the murder on Cheney Island, any explanation at all for New Ireland Island (New Brunswick) or Hospital Island (West Isles) (as above, beware of hatnote), and had trouble finding much at all on the Wolf Islands other than the lighthouse despite the fact they were so well-known to mariners through history; possibly shipwrecks or similar in the West Isles Parish as a whole?
