Broadcasted
[edit]The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B
Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".
A May 2023 search for Broadcast gave over 234,000 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 99.
Of these, 16 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 14 refer to a 2015 Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Jeraxmoirađ (talk) 09:53, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Sock?
[edit]IP maybe a sock of this SF. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:43, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry Fylindfotberserk, I'm not an expert on Srimonbanik2007, I used to follow him, but I thought he had given up a couple of years ago.
I note that the IP in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Srimonbanik2007/Archive - 2405:201:AC03:131:0:0:0:0/64 (talk ¡ contribs ¡ WHOIS) that you said "does look like Srimonbanik2007" locates to Churachandpur, Manipur, whereas the latest one 2409:40E6:1D:F36E:8000:0:0:0 (talk ¡ contribs ¡ WHOIS) locates to Guwahati, Assam. These towns are 547km apart by road, making it less likely, but the IP could be from somewhere in between, that registers to the main towns. - Good luck - Arjayay (talk) 13:08, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
Kudos
[edit]@Arjayay, this edit made me marvel, once again, at your ability to spot and clean up duplicate words. Thanks! PRRfan (talk) 15:57, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
Request for a Welcome Message
[edit]Hello, I've been editing Wikipedia for nearly two months now, but I noticed that I haven't received a welcome message yet on my user talk page. If you have the time, I would really appreciate it if you could leave one. Thank you very much in advance!Yuzy Okkotsu1 (â) 08:50, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, Yuzy Okkotsu1, but I am not on the Welcoming committee, and after 1230 edits, it seems rather late. AFAIK they only welcome new users, so you are unlikely to receive a message now, although you have already received a kitten. However, I thank you for your edits and the new articles you have created. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 09:00, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
first addition to wikipedia
[edit]hey there, I have been studying my family history every day for nearly a decade. The article I chose to write about is Judge David Jenkins Royalist. He is my 10th direct grandfather and the first person to take Jenkins as a surname. I sent you a response with various citations. you told me I could post it again, but I don't know where to find what I wrote and I didn't save it or copy it anywhere else. All of the information is duly correct. This particular family line is literally like the movie the Da Vinci Code. I am the only male survivor of this family that does in fact go through King Arthur, real name Caradog Freichfras, Caratacus whose son Linus wasthe first Pope and Bishop of Rome for 12 years. You can find Linus in the Bible. His father was Bran the blessed The first Royal Christian convert. He was King of Britain, he was also married to the heir of Augustus. This is why you had the Caligulas and Neros and Tiberius types as they were adopted they weren't blood lineage Rulers. And John The Baptist was the Father Of Bran, And although he too was King of Britain as well as the de jure high priest and Messianic Levite King of Israel. Jesus was the Messianic King of Judah these are two separate ideas but they were in fact cousins.
There are wikipedia articles that have Tasciovanus (John The Baptist) and all the others I have mentioned. they are also mention in the mabinogion. and as I already did for you on what I thought was your talk page I cited the book by Gardner hidden lineage of Jesus christ. Theres also ancientwalesstudies.org multiple pedigrees from the time in Wales just before Jesus and John all the way to the last king who ruled in our family line Bleddyn ap Maenarch, he was killed by newmarch one of william the bastards barons and a few generations later the women in newmarchs family have married their way into the Wnglish Royalty. To be fair this is very sensitive information. It also means that this writer by de jure lineal definition is in fact the true Prince of Wales. My family literally started the Christian Kingdom, were kings of south Wales and various other parts, wessex at one point, gwennded only briefly, malienodd, brychneiog, eywas, gwent, glyswing, morganng, glamorgan. the last four or fice of those are all basically the same place with name changes for various reasons including a never ending onslought of invaders.
I have been to Wales twice, last year and they treat me like their prince. I have been to Cowbridge many times where Judge David Jenkins is buried Cowbridge. Its also where Leoline Jenkins secretary of state under charles 2nd grew up and went to famous Cowbridge grammar school as did Anthony Hopkins the actor.
Anyway just let me know what you want from me I promise you I know what I am talking about. MichaelBradleyJenkins (talk) 20:21, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi MichaelBradleyJenkins, I issued you a standard template warning about making unsourced/unreliably sourced additions.
None of the three "sources" you have since listed on your talk page are acceptable: the first is a blog, and the other two are Wikipedia pages, none of these are reliable sources.
From your comments above, it sounds as if you have conducted original research, and are now trying to add that to Wikipedia, but Wikipedia does not accept WP:Original research. My recommendation is that you forget trying to add this to Wikipedia, and find another website that accepts such claims. Failing that, please discuss this at Talk:David Jenkins (Royalist), although most of the previous editors to the article have not been very active of late. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 21:28, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
You are not updating and trying to drag down the box office collection of Retro. Even reliable sites have given the correct figures and you are still editing it back to the first day collection. You are doing this because Suriya may not be your favourite actor. This is unfair.
[edit]Incorrect updation of box office gross of Retro. EdiAnandu (talk) 10:34, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- No EdiAnandu, all I am doing is removing unsourced, and unreliably sourced, claims. It was because of the large number of such claims that the page was protected. If you have a WP:Reliable source - please post a request at Talk:Retro (film), but please check WP:ICTFSOURCES first, to ensure it is a WP:Reliable source - there are more unreliable sources than reliable ones. - Arjayay (talk) 10:45, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- But even in the reliable site like New18 the collection figures are higher than what you have given. EdiAnandu (talk) 10:59, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- EdiAnandu I assume you mean News18 India? As that is listed as a "reliable source" at WP:ICTFSOURCES, you can add News18 India, but please make sure you add a full reference at the same time, so others can check it. - Arjayay (talk) 11:07, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ok. EdiAnandu (talk) 11:09, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I corrected the box office gross according to another reliable site named mint news. EdiAnandu (talk) 11:34, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
