[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a draft for a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Draft:Abdisabancha. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. - Hello @McMatter, thank you for your review and guidance. I understand Wikipedia discourages autobiographical submissions. I’ve done my best to follow Wikipedia’s guidelines on neutrality, tone, and reliable sourcing. I’ve included several independent secondary sources such as BBC Afaan Oromoo, VOA, the Google Crowdsource Blog, and the Youth Entrepreneurship Competition.
- I’d appreciate further suggestions on how to strengthen the article to meet notability criteria or whether additional third-party sources would help demonstrate verifiable public impact. I’m open to community editing and third-party reviewers taking it forward. Thank you again! Abdisabancha (talk) 19:40, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- You need sources that meet 3 criteria in order to establish notability as we define it. They must be from a reliable source, this is a source known for fact checking and having editorial oversight of the content, this excludes things like blogs and competition listings. Significant Coverage about the topic, this means there has to be a extensive amount written about the subject in the reference. The last criteria is independent of the subject this means someone on their own accord has taken time to write about the subject and publish it. This excludes anything like press releases, interviews, autobiographies and profile pages. The only one of your sources that may meet that criteria is the BBC article. None of the rest meet the 3 criteria and this is not enough to show notabilty. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 19:52, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clear and constructive feedback. I now understand that to meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, I will need to provide more independent, in-depth, and reliable coverage from third-party sources. I’ll work on sourcing stronger references that meet all three criteria. I appreciate your time and input. Abdisabancha (talk) 20:16, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
