Should I focus on Old luxury or new luxury Brands

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Fashion members! I’m planning an article or section in my sandbox about luxury fashion brands and need advice on whether to focus on old luxury brands (e.g., Chanel, Dior, Givenchy) or new luxury brands (e.g., Off-White, Balenciaga, Jacquemus). The aim is to explore their influence on contemporary fashion. Questions for discussion:

  • Which group has greater notability or gaps in Wikipedia’s coverage?
  • Are there key brands, designers, or trends in either category that deserve more attention?
  • <nowiki>Should I emphasize historical significance (old luxury) or modern innovation (new luxury), or combine both? Suggestions for scope, reliable sources, or alignment with WikiProject Fashion goals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
