Hello, ASGoji, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Making additions to the lists of tallest buildings

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed that you recently edited the List of tallest buildings in India page and added Codename Peaklife to the list of completed buildings. While I appreciate your enthusiasm to contribute, please ensure that you do sufficient research on the buildings before adding them, and ensure that you add them to the correct category. For example, the Codename Peaklife project has not even been approved by RERA. Do not list this in the under-construction category until construction work has actually begun (usually when the laying of slabs starts). Sawarijoshi (talk) 17:32, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate how you chose to have a conversation with me about this, but I think you are wrong. All sources I have checked out state that BBMP and BDA have approved the project, not only AI, but their posts on Instagram suggest it. The project is undergoing RERA approval and is most likely to be approved, since it has passed all norms so far. If a project is not approved, it is stopped at the BBMP level, and if delayed, stopped by the BDA. RERA usually just goes along. I am saying this after checking on multiple websites, including the builder's own. I am the one who added 75% of the approved buildings in this list, so you can't expect such recklessness from my side. I would request you to do research before reverting edits. About the construction work, even Mista Sri city's construction work has not started, there have only been cranes placed there, so yeah, it's just a matter of a few weeks/ perhaps a few months, so let it be in the under construction list. The builders will never make launch videos and wide-reaching advertisements, especially via calls, unless the project has been approved by RERA(else the developer will be fined) and is ready to be constructed. (As in the case of Karnataka Financial Tower, Bangalore Turf Towers, which I believe should be removed from the list.) I stay near the proposed location of the project, and have seen posters and barricades being ordered and, by now, have been put over. I am planning to visit the site for further confirmation. Thank you.ASGoji (talk) 14:28, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Since you seem to have much better on-ground awareness about it, I’ll let you decide whether to keep this listed under-construction or not. Nevertheless, I would like to share a few pointers.
  1. For any additions to the list, you need to add a credible citation which attests that the construction work is actually underway. I did not see you add any, nor could I find any reliable references online myself.
  2. While I do understand that some buildings may not have reliable citations (yet), in such cases, wait until there is sufficient irrefutable evidence about the construction work having started.
  3. RERA Approval is the minimum bar for a project to be called “Approved”. Approvals from other government departments are prerequisites for the RERA Approval and do not guarantee a RERA approval. Legally, no construction work can start without RERA Approval - only site preparation can be done. Therefore, in the absence of a formal RERA Approval, the building should not be marked “under-construction”. It should not even be marked “Approved”. No matter how optimistic we are about its upcoming RERA approval, legally and technically, it is still in the “Proposed” category.
  4. Several developers advertise upcoming projects prior to RERA Approval. This is legal and common practice. Without the approval, a developer can still advertise their upcoming projects. However, they cannot start sales. So, just because a developer is advertising a project, please do not assume that it is Approved, let alone assuming construction has started.
  5. “…their posts on Instagram suggest it” This is not a reliable source.
  6. “…matter of few weeks/perhaps a few months” Why not wait for a few months and then add it? That would be accurate.
  7. ”The builder will never make launch videos and advertisements unless it is RERA Approved” Not true. Explained above.
  8. “…is ready to be constructed.” Seems like you yourself are suggesting that construction has not begun.
When you visit the site, do let me know what the latest status of construction is. The commonly-used threshold for considering a project to be “under-construction” is to check whether slab work has begun. Everything prior to that is still considered “site preparation”.
Having lived for several years in Bangalore myself, I am happy to see these exciting new high-rises. But let’s keep these lists as honest and accurate as possible. Cheers. Sawarijoshi (talk) 17:22, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
While I don't agree with what you said(especially about RERA, where they have been cases, as I mentioned about Bangalore Turf Towers that prior advertisements backfire), I am glad you entrust me with the task to decide if this remains in the Under-construction list or not. I would soon be visiting the proposed plot, and meet the developer, and would accordingly check into this ASGoji (talk) 17:47, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that you added the website homepage of the project as a citation for Peaklife. This is not considered a reliable citation. FYI. Sawarijoshi (talk) 20:28, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You have added the wrong info, though, it 100% not 70 floors, the developer's website is mroe reliable for now, even it cannot be taken a citation ASGoji (talk) 11:57, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
