[edit]This is a clear violation of WP:RUSUKR. You have been reminded previously about the restriction. Mellk (talk) 08:40, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Mellk Please, elaborate. What should I read besides the link you provided to be on the safe side? Thank you 78.81.123.235 (talk) 08:48, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- See WP:BROADLY. I would suggest not making any edits about something that has anything to do with the war, even if it is something as simple as copyediting or adding a link. Mellk (talk) 08:56, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, duly noted. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 09:01, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- I'd like to add that the edit linked above was also in violation of WP:RS and WP:PRIMARY. Facebook is not a reliable source (see also WP:SPS), and you'd have been advised to find another source for that information even if it hadn't violated WP:RUSUKR. »Gommeh 17:19, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the WP:SPS link. To support some of its claims about social networks as self-published sources, Serhiy Plokhiy published the whole book about Chernobyl NPP capture during the first months of Russian invasion of Ukraine, based on Facebook accounts of plant's employees forced by occupiers to obey by their orders as historiographic source! Seems self-account of the army general of his promotions, otherwise not publicized, are warranted to be sourced as well. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 18:04, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits on the page Jarlig, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. »Gommeh 17:16, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you. I fully support naming the Vasily as Basyl in English. Could I suggest you initiating a redirect from Vasiliy the II to Basil the II? It seems appropriate, doesn't it? 78.81.123.235 (talk) 17:33, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- There's already a redirect for that at Basil II of Muscovy. »Gommeh 17:35, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Exactly! And that redirect is incompatible with your message above, isn't it? 78.81.123.235 (talk) 17:38, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Not really- it needs to be consistent with the name of the article as it appears on Wikipedia or else it could be seen as unprofessional. I thought it didn't look as good in context the way you had it, but this is subjective. You can of course decide to revert if you disagree. »Gommeh 17:42, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- As far as I understand Wpedia assigned names to the article, not wise versa. For Vasiliy II, the context appears to be localized, agreed. For yarligh, probably, less so. But still consistency is what lacking here. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 17:48, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, I'm Fukualofa. I noticed that you recently removed content from Beskydy Tunnel without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Fukualofa (talk) 13:15, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Fukualofa My explanation was - formatting. If you care to have a look, 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine is now redirect to Russian invasion of Ukraine. BTW, I left a similar message on your talk page about your revert of my edit. Please, answer. Thank you 78.81.123.235 (talk) 14:32, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- This is clearly a WP:RUSUKR violation. Mellk (talk) 14:43, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Same with this. Apparently we need a much longer block this time. Mellk (talk) 14:44, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Mellk. I just don't understand your point in blocking anybody for just minor editing of links. Is it somehow justifiable? I don't edit CT-related articles and pages. Please explain, what is the problem? My IP address from Russia? I don't believe, of course, but all other rational explainations are avoiding me at this point. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 14:51, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- As I said at the top of the page:
See WP:BROADLY. I would suggest not making any edits about something that has anything to do with the war, even if it is something as simple as copyediting or adding a link
. - As another editor told you:
Just because an edit you made to a RUSUKR topic article did not get reverted doesn't mean that it isn't covered by the restriction; contentious topics and general sanctions restrictions apply to all edits in the topic area, not just to unconstructive/controversial ones
. Mellk (talk) 14:54, 15 June 2025 (UTC)- I understand your insisting on avoiding the CT: of course, community rules are binding. Through providing in-line wikilinks the content is becoming more solid, I believe. I promise not to add them any more. Thank you 78.81.123.235 (talk) 15:01, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- I am saying this because in your previous unblock requests (where you made much more significant edits relating to the topic area), you called the blocks erroneous. Therefore, I do not know if you will abide by the restriction. I will take your word that you will not make any more edits related to the topic area, but if I see another violation, then I will have to bring this to the attention of administrators again. Thanks for your understanding. Mellk (talk) 15:10, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your discretion. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 15:11, 15 June 2025 (UTC)

@Mellk Sorry for disturbing, but to be on the safe side I should consult: would be adding the † sign next to the death date in bios considered in breach of WP:RUSUKR? Thank you 78.81.123.235 (talk) 17:02, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- It is not a problem to ask me questions. If you check the documentation at Template:KIA, it is only used for Template:Infobox military conflict. I am assuming you are referring to including this in Template:Infobox person or something similar? Mellk (talk) 17:09, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- No, I meant to use it in the bio article. So, it's irrelevant now per the template. Thank you 78.81.123.235 (talk) 17:11, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- MOS:BIRTHDATE might also be useful. Mellk (talk) 17:13, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit]These edits [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] (among others) are violations of the WP:RUSUKR sanctions and restrictions.
Copyright violations
[edit]This edit added copyrighted material, which is not allowed. Please read WP:COPYVIO. TurboSuperA+(connect) 21:55, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- @TurboSuperA+ Thank you for letting me know. I put the quotation marks an the citation: would it be considered violations? Then I will self-revert, of course. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 22:00, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yes. Please read WP:COPYPASTE, especially the section on quotes. TurboSuperA+(connect) 22:04, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- Are high military structure appointments related to CT? My understanding is that biographies and non-unit command structures are just elements, and not units. Will refrain from editing, of course. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 22:06, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, editing articles about the commander of the Ukrainian armed forces and navy is a violation of the WP:RUSUKR sanctions, as are edits to the article about Ukrainian Ground Forces. The BLP exception to CT is to remove BLP violations, same exception applies to obvious vandalism. TurboSuperA+(connect) 22:14, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarification. Duly noted. Please, have a look at my rewriting of Vranyo: please feel free to copy-edit. All the best. 78.81.123.235 (talk) 22:28, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
