Clinical interpretations and reference formatting

[edit]

WP:ECREE is a good guideline for interpreting the state of science on any herb or dietary supplement, with the question: has this product been tested and proved for efficacy and safety to the extent of an approved drug? With few exceptions, the answer is "no". It is not helpful for an encyclopedia to say "may improve x" or "preliminary research shows" when an effect is years/decades from evidence completing the full phases of clinical research process. No clinical organization, government or company would invest such resources for a compound with no IP protection.

Please use a reference template for formatting sources. Also note WP:REFNAME for repeat refs in the same article. Good luck. Zefr (talk) 18:56, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Banisteriopsis caapi, you may be blocked from editing. You are becoming a problem - having to check all your edits - by overinterpreting and exaggerating the uncertain results of in vitro and animal research. Slow down and seek advice/consensus on talk pages before adding medical content. Please read WP:MEDRS as a guide for sourcing. Zefr (talk) 21:52, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
