January 2025

    • Reason: My WP:BEFORE searches turned up no reliable sources with significant coverage such as to establish or support the subject's notability. Furthermore, I note that a similar article Vishnu V. Raj, created by the same editor with largely the same content, was deleted via BLPPROD on 8 January, having also remained completely unsourced. With the agreement of WWGB who nominated this article for BLPPROD, I chose to take it to AfD for a more permanent consensus decision.
  2. Bollajira Aiyappa: nominated at AfD; notified Nitink16 (talk · contribs) 12:06, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
    • Reason: I removed a chunk of copyvio text from the article that had been copied from the first reference [1]. The remainder does not seem to establish notability under any criteria that might apply, e.g. WP:NACTOR, WP:NBUSINESS (as founder of a publishing house), WP:GNG. Although there are many references in the article as it stands, they are all passing mentions rather than WP:SIGCOV. There are no linked articles in other language Wikipedias, and my WP:BEFORE turned up no reliable sources with significant coverage. It is of course possible that there is sufficient coverage in local offline sources, in which case I would happily withdraw my nomination.
  3. Benjamin Spiegel: nominated at AfD; notified Sergiomarcus (talk · contribs) 19:46, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
    • Reason: My WP:BEFORE turned up no decent sources with significant independent coverage - it seems to be almost entirely recycled press releases, passing mentions, interviews or items that the subject has written themselves.     • Reason: I struggled to find sources with significant coverage during my WP:BEFORE searches, and those in the related articles in other languages did not seem especially helpful. I therefore submit that notability is not established, though I'd be happy to withdraw my nomination if suitable sources, maybe in not in English, can be found and added to the article.     • Reason: I couldn't find any decent sources in English during my WP:BEFORE searches, and the two references [2] and [3] in the corresponding kowiki article 404ed and they didn't seem to be available on the Wayback Machine either. As it stands, the article does not meet WP:SPORTBASIC, though I acknowledge that there may be better sources in Korean language with WP:SIGCOV, in which case I would happily withdraw my nomination.     • Reason: There are a few passing mentions in reputable sources, e.g. [4], [5], and [6] which confirm the subject's position at Masjid Al-Abdin, and [7] which notes his position as the owner of a Hajj travel company, but nothing with significant coverage apart from [8] which is not a reliable source. There are also a number of press releases from the subject's travel company, e.g. [9], and [10] is, I think, the subject's personal site, but none of that helps with notability.     • Reason: I couldn't find enough reliable independent sources with WP:SIGCOV to establish notability for this political party. I note that searching is tricky because socialist Janata Dal (where the adjective socialist describes Janata Dal) and Socialist Janata Dal (a splinter group of Janata Dal I think) are effectively the same thing to search engines! It is possible that there are decent sources not in English, and if they were added to the article I would willingly withdraw my nomination. I had previously redirected this article to List of Janata Dal breakaway parties but that has been widely contested by a COI editor and their related sock puppets in the past (see history), and now an IP user is reverting to the same poorly sourced material. Hence my nomination for deletion. I would support a redirect to List of Janata Dal breakaway parties but only if it were subject to extended-confirmed protection.     • Reason: Current sources are all unreliable, and my WP:BEFORE didn't turn up any better sources so as to establish notability through WP:NFILM.

  3. Tham Nimal-Raj: nominated at AfD; notified Saruthino (talk · contribs) 19:55, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
    • Reason: I could find no reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject, thus does not meet WP:BIO. His academic career does not meet any of the criteria of WP:NPROF and neither of his books appears to have had sufficient impact such that WP:NAUTHOR might be achieved. Article has been repeatedly published in mainspace from draftspace in spite of the absence of solid sources and references, and the tone is very promotional. I had considered WP:G11 but the article is probably slightly below the bar for speedy deletion.
