SrijonShekor

[edit]

Srijonshekor is the first climate-focused monthly magazine[1] in Bangladesh, published to foster creativity among higher secondary level students. The magazine's main goal is to inspire the younger generation to engage with literature, art, and environmental awareness.[2]

History and Background

[edit]

In recent times, increasing dependence on smartphones and technology[3] among students has been seen as a factor contributing to the decline of creative thinking. In this context, Srijonshekor was founded to encourage students to think independently, write, and explore artistic expression. It serves as a platform where students can publish their literary and artistic work.[4]

Content and Activities

[edit]

A significant portion of Srijonshekor's content is dedicated to raising awareness about climate change[5] from an early age. The magazine’s team also organises workshops aimed at encouraging students to explore new ideas, develop environmental consciousness, and build self-confidence.

Sections

[edit]

The magazine includes several sections, notably:

Launching Day
  • Poetry and Short Stories
  • Painting
  • Science Fiction
  • English Literature
  • Climate Change and Environmental Awareness: This section emphasises the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle[6] to help students develop an environmentally friendly mindset. Through this, students become more conscious of climate issues and learn to contribute positively at both individual and social levels.

Objective

[edit]

The magazine aims to develop students’ creative abilities, increase environmental awareness, and foster interest in literature and the arts.
