[edit]- Αφροδίτη παρά Κνωσίοις
- The temple of Hera Anthea (Flowery) is on the right of the sanctuary of Leto, and before it is a grave of women. They were killed in a battle against the Argives under Perseus, having come from the Aegean Islands to help Dionysus in war; for which reason they are surnamed Haliae (Women of the Sea).

Before this temple was the mound under which the women were buried who had come with Dionysus from the Aegean islands, and had fallen in a contest with the Argives and Perseus. (Paus. 2.22.1.) Antheia was used at Gnossus as a surname of Aphrodite. (Hesych. s. v.)
