Question from Arefe 1383 on Help:IPA/Russian (23:08, 7 December 2024)

سلام چگونه عدد رادیونیک با موضوع دلخواهم داشته باشم؟ --Arefe 1383 (talk) 23:08, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Arefe 1383! According to Google Translate, you're asking how you can "get a radionic number with the subject [you] want?" Can you elaborate a bit further on your question? I'm not sure as to what you're asking... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:06, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Question from Wai Yan Linn (Soneseeyar) on User:Wai Yan Linn (Soneseeyar) (15:23, 9 December 2024)

Upload my photos --Wai Yan Linn (Soneseeyar) (talk) 15:23, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Wai Yan Linn (Soneseeyar)! Welcome to Wikipedia! Do you have images that you'd like to upload? See this page for help and instructions. Please make sure that you follow Wikipedia's copyright policies; violating them is a big no-no! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:08, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Question regarding Wikipedia policy

In conducting a dispute on another editor's contribution, is it appropriate to first revert the contribution and then begin a talk to get consensus to restore it? Or is it correct to instead tag the content in the article as disputed and then begun a dispute in the article's talk page? I have gotten conflicting answers to this when consulting the relevant articles (WP:TALKDONTREVERT, WP:STONEWALLING) and asking others on the topic and would appreciate your insight! Sxbbetyy (talk) 06:33, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I took some time and read about the disagreement concerning your insertion. I appreciate you might actually be on the right side of the issue (the fundraiser being a stunt, not about making a positive change in the environment), but on the wrong side of policy (nobody in media is doing this calculation like you are, or you'd have mountains of reliable sources to back this up). There's something about WP:Righting great wrongs here. That's not the business Wikipedia is in. We're in the business of reporting what reliable sources say about the subject. If you can find multiple RS to back up your inference (that the financing efforts were inadequate by orders of magnitude), I think you'll find support for such insertion. BusterD (talk) 06:59, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for your insight on that topic, however I'm not asking Oshwah about that here (and do disagree that the calculation used is WP:OR, as it fits the criteria of WP:2+2=4 and cites a verifiable source). I only wish to seek an answer to the message I posted here earlier today. If you wish to discuss that other topic I suggest taking it to the relevant talk page and I'd be more than happy to engage with that there. Sxbbetyy (talk) 11:39, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi Sxbbetyy! I apologize for the extreme delay with responding to your questions here. The holidays had me sick, injured, spending time with family, the whole shebang... :-) I don't think that WP:2+2=4 applies to this situation, since we're not talking about routine calculations or arithmetic. We're talking about what reads to me as an opinion. The thing you must do is remember that the onus or burden of proof is on the user who is adding or inserting content to support the content with a reliable source. Whether or not removing such content is appropriate first before starting a discussion on the article's talk page really depends on exactly what the content is. If, for example, we're talking about a BLP issue - then yes, absolutely do that. Otherwise, it may start an editing war... use your best judgment. :-) Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else. I'd also like to thank Sxbbetyy for responding while I was away. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:23, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Well, well ...and Hi!

Maybe this come-back is not massive in size (yet!), but it's really impressive in speed!

Oshwah, 10th of Dec

Glad to see you back. May the happiness be with you! --CiaPan (talk) 09:00, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

CiaPan - Gracias! I was sick, injured, seeing family... it's good to be back. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:24, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi, Oshwah! I hope you keep collecting memories and smiling to them. Happy – and healthy! – New Year for you and all around you. --CiaPan (talk) 20:41, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Talk page archiving failure

It looks like your talk page stopped to migrate to archives about mid-August 2024. --CiaPan (talk) 09:52, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Nevermind. You do archiving manually, and the last such action has been Diff/1252757979 which actually took the August threads to archives. There was no archiving since, so it's nothing wrong with empty Sept/Oct archive pages. Happy editing! --CiaPan (talk) 12:56, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

CiaPan - No worries, mate! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:25, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Question from Pattersonuwu (16:05, 10 December 2024)

Hi, I wanted to create a wikipedia page for the game TETR.IO, but my “Under construction” template was reverted back to the redirect it once was. I was still working on the page when that happened, why would this happen? -- (talk) 16:05, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Pattersonuwu! It looks like someone changed the page and redirected it. Take a look here. This is common to have happen when an article subject is in a list that already exists. If you have any more questions, please let me know! Also, welcome aboard! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 21:26, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Genxjono (18:18, 14 December 2024)

As a content creator with over a million followers, one of my #1 Google searches that always comes up is "genxjono Wikipedia." So based on the exception for notable people I created one sitting under drafts. Would you be able to assist in getting it published? Edit further to facilitate that it is impartial and unbiased? It's posted by me as John Kotrides draft --Genxjono (talk) 18:18, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Genxjono: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! In order for an article to be created about an online content creator, they must meet at least one of the following criteria:
  1. They have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. (WP:BASIC)
  2. The person has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment. (WP:ENT#2)
This is assuming that the creator is not also known for something else (e.g. Neil deGrasse Tyson is better known for his academic and science communication work than his online podcast).
I have assessed your draft, and it appears that you have not fully established that you meet these criteria. This is because it is not adequately supported by reliable sources. I also suggest that you read the advice at Wikipedia:Autobiography before continuing. JJPMaster (she/they) 22:14, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
JPPMaster is correct. I highly recommend that you review Wikipedia's guidelines regarding notability. It will have all of the information that you'll need. If you still have questions after reviewing those guidelines, please don't hesitate to reach out to me and let me know. I'll be happy to help! :-) Best - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:51, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Filmwizardtx (02:00, 16 December 2024)

hey I want to create a article now about some people in TV Shows, mostly famous directors, and I am going to be starting on my first one now! But I was wondering what sources are counted as notable by wikipedia? --Filmwizardtx (talk) 02:00, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi Filmwizardtx! Welcome to Wikipedia! You can review the list of reliable sites and sources by visiting this page. Please let me know if you have any more questions, and I'll be happy to answer them and help you. Again, welcome! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:37, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Request for Assistance with the Randa Kassis Wikipedia Page

Dear Oshwah, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Hazar, and I am reaching out to request your assistance regarding the Wikipedia page for Randa Kassis.

Recently, I have observed that an extended confirmed user, Psychloppos, seems to have developed an undue focus on this page. Their edits and behaviour appear to reflect personal biases rather than adhering to Wikipedia’s standards of neutrality and verifiability. Despite my efforts to improve the page and ensure compliance with Wikipedia’s guidelines, I have faced repeated resistance that hinders its ability to present balanced and well-sourced information.

Yesterday, I made updates to the page and plan to select and organise all references within the next two days. However, Psychloppos has continued to add neutrality dispute tags, reinforcing their undue fixation on the page and making it difficult to progress towards an accurate and unbiased article.

As someone who has followed and admired Randa Kassis since 2010, I am deeply concerned about the potential misrepresentation of her work and contributions. Ensuring the integrity and neutrality of her Wikipedia page is essential Thank you 🙏 HS (talk) 23:57, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

Hazar Sam - Have you attempted to discuss your concerns with Psychloppos directly? You can do so on the talk page of the article or by messaging them on their user talk page (like what you did here to me). That is the best route to try and solve any kind of dispute. There's also a page that will help you if talking to this user is unsuccessful. See Wikipedia's dispute resolution page here; it has many resources. Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be happy to help! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:26, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

NightWolf1223! Sorry for the late response! I've been busy, stressed, I have to move in a few months, and I received some very bad news from the hospital today... so yeah, it's been quite a bumpy ride. Thank you for the Christmas wishes and I hope yours went well. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:25, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
