Hello! My name is Nikolai Kurbatov. I am a Russian Jew by nationality, melancholic by temperament and asthenic by build. I am video and film editor, poet, encyclopedist, film director, producer, actor, screenwriter, cinematographer, composer, designer, painter, literary and film critic, geographer, economist, football freestyler, dartsman, basketball player. I am disabled with a whole range of severe physical and mental illnesses, including bipolar disorder.

I am two-time European record holder, 16-time Russian record holder, winner of hundreds of awards, including barnstars of Wikipedia for the popularization of Russia and Russian cinema, Gratitude from the Head of Perm and the Minister of Culture of the Perm Krai,[1] an Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the Perm Krai, medals "Fyodor Dostoevsky 200 years old", "Marina Tsvetaeva 130 years old", "Enlighteners Cyril and Methodius", "Holy Rus'", "Mikhail Lermontov 210 years old", "Alexander Pushkin 225 years old", two medals "Sergei Yesenin 125 years old", 17 diplomas, 12 certificates, two medals of the "Book of Records of Russia", the sign of the "Book of Records of Russia", Gratitude from the Dedmorozim charity foundation and many awards from the Runiversalis and Looky projects. Over the years of my life, i created over 80 thousand articles on Wikipedia, Runiversalis, and Ruwiki, more than 5,000 poems, over 1,300 videos, more than 300 reviews of poems, more than 300 photographs, more than 110 captions, 29 illustrations of poems, 24 reviews of films, 15 musical compositions, 10 logo designs, 6 wallpapers, 3 stories, 3 banners, 2 posters, and i performed 9 songs.[2][3][4]

I was included in the Europe Book of Records (including as the mentally disabled person with the most awards)[5][6] and the Russian Book of Records, including in such categories as "Highest rated movie trailer",[7][8] "Video with the most likes without dislikes", "Video with the most views without dislikes",[9][10][11][12][13] as well as in the category "Most likes on VKontakte for a poem written by a mentally disabled person"[14][15] and as the creator of the largest number of publications on Wikipedia.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] As of 2025, i was among the top 100 most productive Wikipedia authors in 31 languages, and among the top 10 in 10 languages, and ranked first on the Runiversalis list of the most productive authors. I was twice nominated for the Philanthropist award (in 2018 and 2020) in the Poetry category.[28] My achievements were included in the top 10 most unusual records according to Tinkoff Magazine.[29]

My story was described in Masha Pushkina's book "Bipolar Without Masks. Frank Stories of People Who Searched for Themselves - and Changed the World." My works have collected a total of billions of views.[30][31] I donated a significant portion of my income to charity.[32] In 2024, Komsomolskaya Pravda named me an outstanding figure.[33] I am the author of the ideas for the review rating on KinoPoisk and editing personal messages on VKontakte and Facebook. As a result of my active promotion of trailers as one of the forms of creativity and support for Russian trailer makers, official trailers began to appear indicating the names of the studios that produced these trailers. I have a high typing speed (up to 509 characters per minute, typing equally fast with both hands). I have never used a bot on Wikipedia and I don't know how to do it.

I was born on on May 16, 1990 in Perm in the family of an engineer and a sociology teacher - a candidate of sciences. Since birth, I saw only colored dreams. At the age of 4, I broke my left arm, which took a long time to restore. Since childhood, I had scoliosis. I have always been passionate about the world of art, especially cinema and music, I drew a lot. During my school years, I was involved in athletics, darts (in 1999, I received the first youth category in darts, and in 2005, at home, I fulfilled the standard of Candidate for Master of Sports), football freestyle (several times I kicked a football for more than an hour without stopping, using both legs equally), i was the captain of the school basketball team.

At the end of 2004, I started editing video using screenshots and making videos for films. I could tell by ear how many frames were needed for a synchronous change of plans. That same year, my classmates started making fun of me, so I went to another school. In 2007, I tried writing reviews for feature films, articles, and stories, and also made box office forecasts (I took first place in the world rating of box office forecasters on the American website "Box Office Mojo"), i did photo design, and wrote music. I wanted to serve in the army, but I was diagnosed with "mixed personality disorder" and given a military ID. In 2007, I entered Perm National Research Polytechnic University, majoring in "Economics and Enterprise Management", and was going to graduate with honors. In May 2010, I returned to videos, and in September 2010, I started taking acting classes. Active mental work led to a decrease in emotional intelligence. As a result, it became very difficult for me to watch movies and after a tense winter session at the beginning of 2011, against the backdrop of unsuccessful relationships with girls, I fell into severe depression. When the next semester came, I lost sleep, as a result of which I decided to undergo treatment at a psychotherapeutic center. After treatment, I went on academic leave.

After discharge, I was in an elevated mood, I felt incredibly happy, I rode my bike for hours along the road throughout the city and far beyond it, made a video for the film "V for Vendetta". The video was shown at VGIK and was called very cool by the head of the Moscow Trailer Studio (Innokenty Skirnevsky). He praised the video for its clear structure, well-chosen music, good sense of rhythm, delicate editing and well-translated plot, which is very rare, and the head of the production center "Ars Nova", Andrey Rusanov, called the video an ideal work, and I immediately received the first order: the official trailer #2 for the film "Without Men". In June 2011, my sleep was disturbed again, paranoia began, and on June 7, psychosis occurred and I was placed in a psychiatric hospital. I spent 40 days there. The disease made me restless, seriously impaired my vision and concentration, it happened that I repeatedly looked through the same work and found elementary mistakes in it only years later. Panic attacks began to occur. However, I continued working. I made official trailer #2 for the film "[[Home (2011 film)|Home", which, according to the editors of filmz.ru, turned out exactly as it should be, unlike the previous videos for this film. I also edited a number of trailer versions for the films "Shu-Chu" and "Bablo", several versions of the official TV commercial for the film "August Eighth", one of which was accepted by the creators of the film, but Channel One chose a different version.

In February 2012, I continued my studies at Perm National Research Polytechnic University. I made two official TV commercials for the film "Atomic Ivan", an official trailer for the film "Tomorrow". In May 2012, doctors allowed me to stop the main drug. This led to me having psychosis again in July and I ended up in a psychiatric hospital again. This time I spent more than seven months there and received the second non-working disability group.

After being discharged, I made official trailers for the films "Not at All a Simple Story", "Aunts", "Composer", a trailer for the 10th film festival "Radiant Angel" for the Government of Moscow and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, trailer versions for the films "Kids", "Everything and at Once", "Winter Journey" and "Naughty Grandma", a showreel for Nadezhda Mikhalkova, several videos for the trailer house "On/Off Pro", as well as a promo video for the film "Domovoy". The films for which I made official videos starred leading stars of Russian cinema (Nadezhda Mikhalkova, Anna Mikhalkova, Bogdan Stupka, Sergei Garmash, Mikhail Porechenkov, Vladimir Epifantsev, Grigory Dobrygin, Anton Shagin, Mikhail Efremov, Pyotr Fyodorov, Pavel Derevyanko). In 2014, I suffered from urolithiasis. From June 2014 to January 2016, i republished Alexey Motkin’s poems on the Internet; from April to August 2015, i administered the “Trailers” group on VKontakte.

Every day of my life has become a huge overcoming. Since 2015, I have felt so bad that I don’t want to live.

At the end of 2016, I started writing poetry, many of which were published in large VK groups with hundreds of thousands and millions of subscribers, as well as in the collection of the Ariadna's Thread festival, in which I took part twice, and in the Okno magazine.

I always tried badly or, on the contrary, too hard when I worked for money, and the more they promised for the project, the worse I did with the work, so I started doing everything for free, even to order. At the end of 2019, I began writing plots for classic and upcoming films in verse form, some of which I voiced and edited into short videos. Later, I experimented with book annotations in a similar way. In 2020, I got pancreatitis. I had COVID several times. A dementia test showed that I have a very high probability of getting this disease.

In 2020, I received the following letter: "Your creative works are widely known, original and admired. You have done a tremendous amount of work to popularize Russian cinema in Russia and abroad. Your work in this area has been noted by millions of positive responses from viewers. I wish you not to stop there and discover new facets of your creativity.

In early 2023, I tried myself as a director, actor, and editor of poetry short films, for which I wrote the poems myself. For mysterious reasons, at this time I began to sleep significantly less and eventually began to consider myself the Second Coming of Christ, as a result of which I was hospitalized on my own initiative and spent three and a half months in the clinic. Also in 2023, I began writing articles in the encyclopedia "Runiversalis" and composing short stories in verse, and created a number of articles in Ruwiki.

In 2023, I fell ill with osteochondrosis, was diagnosed with "sciatic nerve entrapment", "bilateral sacroiliitis" and "coxarthrosis", all signs of heart failure appeared, in 2024 I had chickenpox in a severe form. It hurts me to sit and walk, I can't get dressed without help, which is why I rarely leave the house, but I continued to work every day, including on weekends and holidays. I did almost all of my work with a disability and for free.

I don't consider myself talented. I even think that I got sick from a lack of talent. I have always led a physically active and healthy lifestyle, I have never consumed alcohol or smoked, I consider myself a man of peace. I could never harm anyone, I have always had high demands on myself, I have always tried to be an honest and good person and I was deeply worried about even my most insignificant mistakes.
