Hon. SAI TEKCHAND MIRPURI

(Old Activist of RSS - Ulhasnagar, Dist. Thane, Maharashtra)

Shree Sai Tekchand Mirpuri, a well known social activist and old RSS Pracharak since before independence.

He was active in RSS from Sindh, now in Pakistan. After the independence, he and his family migrated from Pakistan to India. He was accommodated in Kalyan Military Camp, later known as Ulhasnagar.

He was close associate of Hon. Shree Lal Krishna Advani ji (Former Deputy Prime Minister of India).

He was active in Janta Party later known as Bhartiya Janata Party.

He was the founder of Bhartiya Sanskar Ashram and Nari Shala Trust.

He maintained his Brahmachari status till his last breath.

He started low cost Medical Services from his Bhartiya Sanskar Ashram, where he use to give medical treatment and medicines just Rs.2/- later till date the same service is provided at Rs.10/- only.

It is popular in Ulhasnagar as "10 Rupee ka Davakhana".

In 1995, Suresh (Pappu) Kalani was contested election from Ulhasnagar People Party when he was in Yerwada jail in Pune. Kalani is pitted against Tekchand Mirpuri from BJP. Mirpuri was defeated and Kalani won by 55000 votes.

In his memory Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation passed an order to built a Welcome gate for his Ashram at Punjabi colony entry road at Sant Shree Rohidas Chowk. The proposal and the formation of this gate was made by the hard effort's of Chandrakant Mishra, Jay Kalyani and Sandesh Mukane.
