200 metres

[edit]

The record holder for this event is Linford Christie, who won the race on six occasions. He was also recognised as British champion in 1985 when he finished runner-up at the AAA Indoor Championships to American guest sprinter Mel Lattany, who raced the championships on numerous occasions. A guest athlete won the title seven times, meaning the silver medalist is recognised as the British champion for that year. Between 2004 and 2008, eight of the fifteen available medals, including two gold medals, went to Irish guest athletes. Antonio Infantino won the championships on three occasions, the first as a British runner, the second and third representing Italy as a guest runner.
