About Me
[edit]I'm a former journalist with many years of experience working on a daily newspaper, including during South Africa’s transition from apartheid to democracy in the 1980s and 1990s. My background is in writing rather than sub-editing, and I bring a strong commitment to reliable sources and factual accuracy — habits formed in the newsroom.
Now based in the UK, I spend a good deal of time in Sicily and contribute to Wikipedia as a way to continue researching and writing about subjects that interest me. These include architecture (especially modernism), public spaces, gardens, and cultural heritage sites — particularly those in Western Sicily.
I speak and write Italian (not quite as confidently as English), and occasionally edit or draft articles related to Italian topics.

Tools and Sources
[edit]I sometimes use ChatGPT to help structure mark-up for Wikipedia drafts. I also use commercially available tools such as Adobe Illustrator to create infographics that clarify or support article content, particularly for location-based or visitor-oriented topics.
All final text I contribute is carefully checked against reliable sources — whether in English or Italian — in line with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly verifiability, neutrality, and no original research.
Drafts and Sandbox
