I’m a contributor interested in the history, languages, and ethno-cultural identities of the Middle East, especially Anatolia and Iran.

I’m a descendant of Qizilbash-Turkmen communities originally from the historical Vilayet of Diyarbekir (present-day southeastern Turkey). My heritage includes:

  • Turkic (Qizilbash-Turkmen) roots with ties to Agamic/Azeroid dialects
  • Terekeme (Turkic nomadic) ancestry
  • and also Zaza-Kurdish (Kirmanc) lineage

My goal is to contribute to topics related to:

  • Qizilbash and Alevi history
  • Turkic dialects of eastern Anatolia
  • Lesser-known ethno-linguistic communities of the region
