Santoz (born December 2, 1982) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and beatmaker from Rio de Janeiro. His work combines samba, jazz, soul, R&B, and funk with a distinctly Brazilian musical identity.

Career

Santoz began his music career as a member of the rap group Posse Reagir. He later joined the jazz fusion band Cia. dos Músicos, led by bassist Gino Santana, performing informal jam sessions in Rio's North Zone.

In 2015, he released three EPs: Santoz – Vol. 1, 2, and 3, showcasing influences of African-American genres and Brazilian music. The EPs featured collaborations with Juh de Paula, Patrícia Costa, Fernanda Andrade, El Pavuna, Gláucia Amorim, and Bob X.

In 2016, he released Studio Session Vol. 1, a live studio performance that included songs from his EPs and a cover of "Zé do Caroço" by Leci Brandão.

He released the samba single Dinheiro é prestígio in 2018 and the single Me Permitir in 2019, with a video filmed at the Selina Hotel in Lapa, Rio. Other notable singles include Sintonia (2020) and Ana (2023). He also collaborated with Cizinho Afreeka on Minha Cría and Canção para Makeda.

Cocktails & Sessions

In 2020, he launched the independent project Cocktails & Sessions, combining live music and bartending, recorded at his home bar and shared via social platforms.

Direto em Frente (2025)

In May 2025, Santoz released his debut album, Direto em Frente, through Vista Records, co-produced with jazz pianist Billy Mitchell. The album features Japanese jazz pianist Yuko Mabuchi as arranger and performer on all tracks.

The first single, Yuko Toca Samba, was released in March 2025 and featured musicians from Brazil, Sri Lanka, and the United States.
