I am interested in anything "Geographic" about my region of Southern Africa, whether it is articles about towns, cities, districts, trade corridors, national parks, rivers, roads, railways, infrastructure, democratic elections, etc!
Routinely checking any article which has information I know of and adding or fixing content.
Creating articles for any "geographical feature" (road, airport, city, etc) that I believe may have an article on Wikipedia.
Checking the articles under the "Roads in Zambia" and "Roads in South Africa" categories and making sure only correct information is indicated, while giving chance to any neighbouring countries where I believe the road network articles can be improved.
These are articles that I created (and thus receive notifications about), whether or not they were redirects first & whether or not somebody else takes credit for expanding the article:
Chilinda District - It was a proposed "District of Zambia" but the article was created without the district ever actually being created (there were no sources apart from a mention in the Zambian Parliament); So, the district does not exist.
R718 (South Africa) - There is no single road in South Africa which has been designated with this route number.
Maintain : Look through every South African local municipality article and make sure that there are no "links to wrong articles" in any list mentioning the towns that the municipality consists of.
The one problem I seem to have with Wikipedia is its "Notability Strictness", which has negatively affected the way some of us are doing our "hobby" of editing Wikipedia. But I really appreciate myself for everything done "so far" & even anything "yet to come".
I am happy with the work done so far on this website by both Chils Kemptonian & GeographicAccountant in terms of attending to the articles about "Roads in South Africa" & "Roads in Zambia" primarily, either by "Expanding the articles" (adding "route sections" & describing the entire route) or "Creating the articles" (if they do not exist yet; & then expanding them)! I am happy that I was able to make most of these articles qualify for the "Stub" tag to be removed!
It has been fun coming to Wikipedia and doing my best to advance "road articles" & other articles & making sure that anything I know is false or inappropriate is removed from those articles. I will try to continue doing this in the industry of "road articles" and "geographical articles" in general.
There have been debates on Wikipedia which have caused issues for the way we edit, such as declarations that "Global Positioning Systems are Primary Sources" & "Route Descriptions are Original Research"! I know a lot of features (Buildings; Roads; Towns) which I believe deserve to have articles on Wikipedia but those articles will not be created just because of these rules. So, I only come to this website to look at "already-existing articles" for the most part & I just sit here hoping that somebody manages to create all the articles that I am believing will not be allowed if I try to create them.
From the time Chils Kemptonian was created in January 2018, I have been hyperactive on this website & I have loved what I do. A few things have already happened to change this narrative (like this discussion where somebody called me incredibly disruptive despite me never having official beef with another editor before then; could it be it was me who did not know what that term means) (it didn't sound right for somebody to call me incredibly disruptive despite there being no single sign of somebody questioning the way I edit before then, whether it's through a message on my talk page or a message on the talk page of the article I edited) (how was I incredibly disruptive when I have always appeared trouble-free; what does the word incredibly mean here) but I am still here, hoping for peace.
Although I still edit road articles among other articles on Wikipedia, I have since subscribed to also be a member of the AARoads Wiki and I am active in editing and creating road articles on that website for the same regions as I do on Wikipedia (primarily Zambia & South Africa; sometimes adjacent countries). That website has certainly amplified the "roadgeek" section of my personality and I am a happy member of the system.
