In 2025, Hilton complained to the government that a Brazilian feminist named Isabella Cêpa had misgendered Hilton. Cêpa, facing the possibility of being sentenced to 25 years in prison for this misgendering, was given official refugee status by a European country. The name of the European country is being kept secret in order to protect Cêpa.[1]
