Mike Beebe - Founder and CEO, EKIM IT Solutions – Portland, Maine

Mike Beebe is an American entrepreneur and the founder of EKIM IT Solutions, a managed IT services company based in Portland, Maine. He is known for helping small and mid-sized businesses in Maine streamline their technology operations through proactive IT support and cybersecurity services.

Early Life and Education

Mike Beebe was born and raised in Kirkwood, New York, where he is locally recognized with an honorary day named after him—"Mike Beebe Day" on March 1st. He graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology in 2018, and later earned his Master of Business Administration in Technology Management from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2023.

Outside academics, Beebe was a decorated track and field athlete. He was the 2015 New York State Champion in High Jump and went on to become a two-time NCAA Division III High Jump National Champion in 2017 and 2018.

Career

Early Technical Career

Beebe began his career in technology support as a Desktop Technician at Broome-Tioga BOCES, where he managed over 400 support tickets annually and led device deployment across multiple school districts. He later held part-time and full-time technical roles at SUNY Delhi, Delhi Telephone Company, and the State University of New York at Cortland, where he progressed from Junior Network Engineer to Network Engineer, and then to Senior Network Security Engineer at Binghamton University. These roles gave him deep experience in network implementation, security, and 24/7 campus operations.

Between 2022 and 2024, Beebe worked as a Senior Network Engineer at Raymour & Flanigan, implementing SD-WAN across 50+ retail sites and significantly reducing operational costs. He also contracted with AdventHealth as a Cisco ISE Engineer, leading deployments that improved network security for over 2 million endpoints.

Founding of EKIM IT Solutions

In January 2023, Beebe founded EKIM IT Solutions with the goal of providing managed IT services tailored to small and mid-sized businesses across Maine. His company focuses on proactive system monitoring, cybersecurity, automated IT solutions, and responsive local support. EKIM IT Solutions has since grown to serve various sectors including healthcare, legal, and retail.

Beebe’s leadership emphasizes clarity over jargon, and his mission is to make technology an asset rather than a burden for his clients.

Certifications and Licenses

Beebe holds several industry certifications including:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Issued October 2023
• CompTIA Security+ – Issued August 2023
• Google Cybersecurity Certificate

In addition to his IT credentials, he obtained a Private Pilot License in 2025 and a Maine Real Estate License in 2024.

Personal Life

Mike Beebe currently resides in Portland, Maine. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time at his camp in Rangeley, Maine, where he snowmobiles, flies, and enjoys the outdoors. He is known for his passion for technology, small business success, and community engagement throughout the state.
