User:Extraordinary Writ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm Extraordinary Writ, and I'd like to thank you for visiting. I do my best to be neither cumbersome nor worthy of disfavor.

I created my account in July of 2020. As my username suggests, my content creation (listed below) tends to center on the law. My unrealistic long-term ambition is to bring all the U.S. Supreme Court justice articles up to GA status or better, and while my work has only notched the figure up slightly (to a measly 13 out of 116), the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time, so if you see an article on the list that piques your interest, I'd be glad to have your help—feel free to peruse my sourcing notes or leave me a message! I'm also pretty active (no doubt more than I should be) outside of mainspace; my areas of interest change regularly but often include requested moves and the various parts of the deletion process. I am an administrator (since December 2022) and also help deal with conflicts of interest and paid editing over at WP:COIVRT. Please don't hesitate to leave a question, comment, or concern on my talk page (or to ping me, or to send me an email)—I'd be glad to hear from you!

A question and an answer

[edit]
Haut Rodric had attended with glazed eye to Pirenne's lecture during the "inspection tour" of the Encyclopedia Building. With polite and vacant smile, he had listened to the latter's rapid patter as they passed through the vast storehouses of reference film and the numerous projection rooms.

It was only after he had gone down level by level into and through the composing departments, editing departments, publishing departments, and filming departments that he made the first comprehensive statement.

"This is all very interesting," he said, "but it seems a strange occupation for grown men. What good is it?"

It was a remark, Hardin noted, for which Pirenne found no answer, though the expression of his face was most eloquent.
