Emma Okello is a Ugandan filmmaker and director. He is known for his work on the short films Hypochondriac (2024) and Reverie (2025).[1]
Career
[edit]Okello began directing and producing independent films in Uganda in 2019. He founded the production collective, Phanuel ActM focusing on collaborative storytelling and visual experimentation. His 2024 short film Hypochondriac was nominated at the Uganda Film Festival 2024.[2] and Okello was featured on Taima Africa Arts,[3] which heighted his work as a filmmaker. In 2025, he wrote produced and directed Reverie, a psychological drama which was also nominated at the Uganda film festival 2025.[4]
