KETAAKETI e.V. is a German-based registered charity that focuses on foreign aid for the poorest people in developing countries. The non-profitassociation was founded in 2007 by Ms A.S. Räcker and is located in Bremen, Germany.
The association has approximately 200 members, with around 40 active members working on a voluntary basis. Currently, KETAAKETI is active in 12 different developing countries, with a focus on African countries. The main goal is to enable small Income Generating Activities (IGAs) through a special microfinance model and the direct support of slum schools and social classes especially for children of illiterate parents.
The associations's financial resources come from private and corporate donations, as well as from membership fees.
Foundation and Development
[edit]Foundation
[edit]After a journey through Nepal, Ms Anneli S. Räcker founded the KETAAKETI association, initially with the aim of supporting primary students and school projects. The word "KETAAKETI" means "children" in the Nepali language. Over the years, the focus of KETAAKETI's foreign aid has shifted towards microfinancing of entrepreneurship. The idea is that economically independent families have less need for child labor and therefore an increased opportunity to send their children to regular school. Since then, the word "KETAAKETI" has been interpreted more as "Future" [1] .
